My SIG P226, should I?

We issue the P226 .40 at work. I have seen all the modifications so far.

First off.... The SRT upgrade is a must!!!

I would choose the short trigger OR the E2 grip. The only people I have seen do both, are extremely small women in the dept. The grips are too small for me, but my wife loved them.

From the sounds of your OP, you don't need the short trigger. If you were pushing the trigger and throwing your groups to the side, then I'd suggest the trigger. If you put the trigger in now, you might start pulling your groups until you retrain you finger.

OK, I called SIG today and paid my $254.90 for the E2 grip, short reset trigger, shipping both ways and received my FEDEX label.

I'm folowing Robo's advice on this and think this will be just what the Dr ordered. Thanks Rob.

I'm wearing it today with it's 9mm upper installed and here's a photo.

I'll post photos and review when I get it back.

  • 2 weeks later...

Got my P226 back from SIG Tuesday. Very fast turn around from their custom shop.

They did a fine job and I like the pistol better now with the E2 grip and short reset trigger conversions.

All the original part were returned with the pistol.

I gotta say though, among my full sized pistols my SA XDm is still my favorite.

The SIG is in (4) calibers though which I can't do with my XDm, giving the SIG an edge in a crisis situation.

Here it is:
