sketch
Planning a feild trip to Oregon and was wondering if the gang had some advice as to carry concealed on the beach and how to get a permit to do so? I resently purchased " Traveler's Guide to the Firearm Laws of th Fiftey States" Is this legit and is oregon a no go in desguise? I was planing on a 32 state Utah permit but Or. is not there.. Can an outof stater get a pass from home state that is legit in another through my local sherrif? Or do I have to go there and take another class? Thanks fellas
planeflyer21
Oregon has tighter laws than what I'm used to: http://www.usacarry.com/oregon_concealed_carry_permit_information.html That is just a brief of their laws. Their use of force laws may be all convoluted. Jon
Zebra644
I usually google the P.D. in the area I am traveling then call and ask to get a feel for the LEO's in that area. Its a little different for active L.E.O after Bush Admin. passed we can carry throughout U.S. I have heard horror stories though of some officers coming close to getting in trouble when they vacation in areas like N.Y. City and Kommifornia. I have never been to Kommifornia and have no plans to. My wife wants to go and I told her send me a post card, and I would stay in Vegas, Arizona or even Hawaii since I have yet to go. The last time I was in N.Y. City was back in 2001 so a different time then. Sorry didn't mean to thread jack carry on lol.
392heminut
Its a little different for active L.E.O after Bush Admin. passed we can carry throughout U.S. That law also applies to retired LEO's too. I've carried concealed in the L.A. and San Diego areas and had no problems from officers there after advising them that I was carrying. Zebra644
Yes it does with retired LEO's. But I still like to call and get a feeling of the local P.D. and attitude and see how they like things done.An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure so to speak. I am glad to see that the LEO's in California appear to be LEO friendly. My wife wants me to go to Hollywood with her some day and I still refuse. Open carry is ok but not me.I can go the sherif rout but what is considered resonable on vacation where I don't have to take a day of vacation to prove its resonable ? Calling Oregon boys? EasyEJL
Except for a few attractions, Hollywood is a GHETTO. I think ghetto doesn't really convey what a crap hole it is. Beverly Hills is still nice though, have some friends that live there. Overall I'd rather be most anywhere else in the LA area than Hollywood for sure. Reminds me, I haven't visited for a while. Need to go hit up the Getty Museum again.
