My brother in law bought hornady ammo to shoot and use the brass to reload but we found out real quick that the brass is no good, it wont extract, he also read the same thing on some forums,  have to drive it out with a cleaning rod, lapua brass extracts every time, this was about 3 years ago, was told by the guy that owns ammo-to-go that hornady has since fixed the problem but have not verified this yet. I do know he is using Retumbo and  lapua scenar (spelling) projectiles, he had trouble with it not liking a lighter bullet but will have to ask what was bad and good.

The ba has a faster twist than most so they prefer the 285 and up. They have fixed the problems with the brass but the issue is that hornady brass is soft. Same with their 308 brass. Lapua and ppu seem to be the best for the LM. Im still waitin. Them tax forms cant come fast enough. I dunno what ill do for optics yet. I know i cant wait till i can afford the steiner military to shoot it so ill hafta figure something out.

I'd say take your time my man, and get the scope that you want for the rifle. My son and I threw the Nightforce NXS off of my AR10 SASS onto the MRAD over the holidays just so we could go and "try" and shoot it. I should have just thrown my wallet down range. It would have made the same difference. Didn't get any satisfaction, PLUS, now I'll have to re-zero the damn thing back on the SASS. That'll teach me to keep it in my pants until I can get the proper hardware next time.

Oh, and we were using some Hornady 285 grain. They extracted just fine and the brass still looks in great condition.
