Cali_Ed Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 I already have my my lower and I could possibly buy a nib coated upper from si, is it possible to get it coated ?
unforgiven Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Contact these guys : http://www.failzero.com/
Robocop1051 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 If it's just because you want it to match, then cool... but NiB doesn't do anything for your lower. There are no moving parts in your lower that would take advantage of the NiB. I have a NiB upper and a OD green anodized lower. Wmdguns.com will NiB anything your heart desires. They do all the FailZero work.
Cali_Ed Posted April 19, 2014 Author Report Posted April 19, 2014 I see so only the upper is important. One last question I know the bolt carrier group should be aswell. Does that include the bolt aswell? I bought a bolt and barrel together

unforgiven Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 When I contacted them about the carrier they said no problem. Then I asked about the stem on charging handle and they said no.FYI they e-mailed a response rather quickly.
Robocop1051 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 My entire upper; receiver, carrier, bolt and barrel extension, are NiB coated. I'm still on the search for a cam pin and a firing pin.
unforgiven Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 If I had just the carrier done would that change anything using same bolt, dimention wise??? When you had the bolt done did you have to strip it,gas rings also ???
Robocop1051 Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 I ordered mine from SI-D already done.
.308LiteHunter Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) NIB sounds like good stuff Edited April 23, 2014 by .308LiteHunter
survivalshop Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 (edited) I have a POF upper that is NIB ,but lower is not & a NIB charging handle also , but has a std Phosphate BCG . If your bolt isn't NIB , you can have it coated , but I would re-check head space because they can get a little tight with any coating , should be fine though. Shadow Ops Weaponry has NIB coated BCG's also . I have one now in my 16" 308AR & its seems to easier to wipe down then the DPMS Chrome one that was in before. If you want the full effect of the NIB coating , any part that can cause friction ,upon any part , would be coated & that would include the inside of the receiver extension & buffer .
