Madhouse Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 LOL, those boy are backwoods, but they sure have fun! And I can imagine this show is really going to put them on the map. I was watching the episode where they were putting together the lightweight ARs for the shooting instructor's school. He had his logo on his shirt so I googled him and checked out his site - they're selling the Katanas from Red Jacket right there in a joint site. Seems like he'll put together some pretty lucrative deals from this show.
Robocop1051 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 I'd like to know more about why that "katana" is so good. I wasn't impressed with the first glance. It's all marketing instead of purpose. He wanted a lightweight battle rifle with 100% reliability... And that is the design he came up with?? I'm scared to think of what he's charging. Maybe engraving "Katana" on the side makes it more accurate???IMHO. It looks like a $1,000 with a $2,000 price tag. I'd take a couple of the personal builds I've seen on this sight, long before I bought a "katana"!!
Madhouse Posted February 11, 2011 Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 You got that right! A carbon fiber forend isn't going to make the price tag that high.
Robocop1051 Posted February 12, 2011 Report Posted February 12, 2011 Here's the rifle... http://redjacketfirearms.com/about/about.htmlI just read the spec's for their basic model.... $1849.95 for a mostly mil-spec carbine!!! You can buy a LMT carbine dressed in Magpul for the same price (maybe less). I'll bet you get more performance and a lighter weight rifle with the LMT too! I built one for my brother-in-law to use on patrol, and he loves it.
