DPMs bolt carrier problem
george_995 replied to george_995's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
The bolt catch does move freely. My stock/buffer assembly consists of the following parts, 1. vltor a5 short rail Receiver extension RE-10 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/264648/vltor-short-rail-carbine-receiver-extension-buffer-tube-6-position-mil-spec-diameter-ar-10-aluminum-black 1.Vltor A5 H3 Heavy Buffer 6.08 oz AR-15 Carbine http://www.midwayusa.com/product/348898/vltor-a5-h3-heavy-buffer-608-oz-ar-15-carbine 1.Armalite AR10 Buffer Spring http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1727 I researched this setup on ar15.com in the mega maten thread(tryed getting a link) before purchasing to make sure it would work. To clarify the receivers are a matched set by mega, in came assembled without trigger and bolt/carrier. Thank you for the help so far. -
The issue is I assembled a stripped lr308 carrier for a recent build, and the bolt catch will not hold the carrier in locked position with or w/out magazine. The receiver is a mega maten w/ their bolt catch. My rifle is yet to be fully assembled(waiting on vise claw), so I have yet to test fire to see bolt locks back after last round. I was browsing midwayusa and found this review on a assembled carrier. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/259608/dpms-bolt-carrier-assembly-lr-308-308-winchester-matte Read the one bad review, this is what got my attention to check my assembly. Here are some pics. What are your thoughts? Anyone heard of any recent problems with carriers? <dontknow> Thanks.

Without a doubt. I saw a show about crime in the UK (couple years back) and their jail/prison systems. It touched base with the aggrevated assualts and murders w/ knives. Its like the criminals reverted back to the old days. Now it would be funny as hell to see a crazy fooker in a overcoat and leather helmet, fly in on a gyro-copter and hold up a liquor store with a wrist crossbow. <munch>

<laughs> Was agreeing/talking about the comment section.

very nice. You ever try any of these subsonics http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2506135961/aguila-sss-sniper-subsonic-ammunition-22-long-rifle-60-grain-lead-round-nose. with your suppressor? -
Agreed. I absolutely despise when people from other countries like the UK chime in. Like they know what is best for everyone here in the United States. :909: :bat:

What do you have on order or in the mail?
george_995 replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion

I want a suppressor sooo badly http://www.advanced-armament.com/product.aspx?pid=957#pid=865. Very nice.
-
Good to know. I know with NV, it is a case were you get what you pay for. For me rather have the quality firearm vs. the gen3 NV. <laughs>
-
Thats going to be a nice handling rifle. I like how you are going with dissapator look.

In very good/excellent condition. Does not have the quick release. I have all of the original tuperware. Was used very little a top ar15. Uses AA batteries. $450 shipped, LMK thanks. :happydrunks: one for laughs.

Same here, I don't like advertising. Starting to see alot of vehicles with assault life logos.http://www.google.com/imgres?q=assault+life+decal&hl=en&sa=X&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS482US482&biw=1920&bih=929&tbm=isch&prmd=imvns&tbnid=xOnm9Uyj5JKLLM:&imgrefurl=http://assaultlifeinc.com/webalizer/usage_201204.html&docid=3Pu026ZyBJPLwM&imgurl=http://assaultlifeinc.com/test/products/stickers/images/Assault_life_M249_300x300.jpg&w=350&h=350&ei=dLPMT83nOOKe2AXY4aCUCQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=277&vpy=212&dur=1264&hovh=225&hovw=225&tx=159&ty=242&sig=110444199456046895505&page=1&tbnh=82&tbnw=90&start=0&ndsp=63&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0,i:81 I have to admit that I do like seeing others promote the shooting lifestyles. I'll pass on the sticker customization on my truck. :hunter: -

gotta love that barrel& flashhider  -
Any of you guys have or know anyone that has fiddled around with a monocular night vision with an aimpoint or eotech compatible w/ NV. Along the lines of something like this http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=8000092D-1222977344 . Just curious if it would work. Thanks

No, I agree it is a hilarious mockery though. Most of us Floridians cant wait until this poop fades away. What bullpoopy storm that was and current, sure shows how the left/liberals are really a bunch of lying race baiting bigots. Its funny how all these people/media from states like New york, Cali and other republics of commieville want to tell us how to protect ourselves(refering to SYG). When they cant even take care of their own states/poop. Anyways here is a link, some may have seen it, I think it puts some things into perspective.http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2012/05/24/update-26-part-2-trayvon-martin-shooting-a-year-of-drug-use-culminates-in-predictable-violence/

I'm glad you referenced the Miami cannibal rather than George Zimmerman(trayvon case). <laughs> I love the smilies on this forum.

Thought the same thing. <laughs>

There is another story like this that I saw on Florida shooters network. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2009-07-27-baby-killed_N.htm?csp=hf

** not work safe**.Not for the faint of heart either. Here is a link of this incident. http://www.flarms.com/forums/showthread.php?2356-Miami-Zombie-Man-Eater!-NEVER-SEEN-PICTURE! I am surprised this leaked.

Thank you gentlemen. I looked up the rainier arms barrels, seem decent w/ good pricing. ;D

I have been skulking around this forum for a couple months. <thumbsup> I found it through google searches for lr308 parts. I am from central florida and do most of my shooting at Hernando sportsman club. I have been an avid shooter most of my life, and finally forefilling that itch to build an 308 ar platform. So far I have everything except the barrel, gas block and flashhider/compensator(?). As of now I am leaning toward the FA 18.5" mid weight threaded barrel. I am not looking to build a benchrest rifle. Looking forward to posting pics of my build.
