found this today, on jp's website Ordering Policies In light of recent events, we are experiencing an extreme increase in order volume, which has completely overwhelmed our phone and email capacity. We apologize for the inconvenience and delays, and we appreciate your patience. Beyond this, the uncertainty of the current political situation has necessitated some changes in policy on our part about which you, our customers, should be made aware. First, we must insist that customers refrain from inventory or status checks. The uncertain future means that our time and manpower is desperately needed to process and fulfill new and existing orders. Customers with existing rifle orders should still see delivery within the timeline originally forecast when the order was placed. For future orders, though, it is no longer possible to predict with any accuracy the delivery date of rifles going forward. Please bear this in mind when placing your order. In the near future, we are also implementing the following changes as to what kind of orders we will accept and how orders will be handled in order to facilitate our ability to deliver our products and services in the most efficient way possible: ■1. Because we must reserve components for rifle builds, we will no longer accept orders for stripped receivers or Lowers with Triggers (LWT). The webpage for these items will be inaccessible for this reason. ■2. Likewise, because our remaining supply of magazines must be saved to supplement rifles orders, the magazine section of the web store will also no longer be accessible. ■3. We will not accept orders for Presentation Grade Finish (PGF) or the Duracoat options as these are very time consuming procedures and would severely limit our production capability. ■4. For some time, it has been difficult to readily obtain certain stocks (those from Magpul in particular) within the timeline of the rifle builds, and we now cannot afford to delay shipment. So, if at the time of completion we do not have the exact stock and grip that you have specified, we will contact you about substituting an alternative in order to get the rifle shipped. If you are not willing to substitute an alternative in that situation, the order will be canceled and your deposit refunded. As with magazines, we will be reserving our existing supplies of stocks and grips for rifle production, so this page of the website will also be inaccessible. ■5. We will not accept customer rifles in for custom work until further notice. We must devote all production capacity to building and shipping new rifles. ■6. In the worst case scenario (i.e., a federal ban is implemented with an effective date that is within the build window of your order), the lower assembly will be shipped to your dealer so that you can legally take possession of the restricted component as soon as possible and then receive the upper assembly when it is finished. Because this situation is dynamic, it is likely to change on a weekly if not daily basis. We will attempt to update this page of the website promptly as events proceed. Thanks for your support!

a very good read on the 2nd amendment http://www.forbes.com/sites/lawrencehunter/2012/12/28/gun-control-tramples-on-the-certain-virtues-of-a-heavily-armed-citizenry/

it sounds like we need to put the blame where it belongs, on a mother with a mentaly disturbed child that didnt keep her guns properly secured. BAD PARENTING led to this killing. but soon Sen. Feinstein and the usual cast of charcters will once again try to take away the guns from law abiding and RESPONSIBLE citizens.

i think you will be alright with the jp setup. just got 1/2 min out of mine on the three hundred yard range today. great barrels
-
just a quick search shows midway has the jp barrels in stock, and rainier has select and ultramatch barrels in stock. either one would be a sub moa barrel. fulton armory has crierian barrels and bolt carriers in stock now. when i did my build recently i had to just keep constantly checking some of the good sites and jumping on the parts as soon as they become avalible, because sometimes they dont stay long. hope this helps accelerate your build

the local gun shop posted an interesting bit If you are even thinking of picking up an AR lower or rifle, You may want to do it I am selling out fast!! I just placed orders for more lowers & rifles & a few AK's but the wholesalers are saying they will be out of (I hate this term) "Assualt Rifles" by the end of the day!!!

i see a problem with that combo, the jp lmos carrier and the slash buffer might not work well together due to the weight difference. you might want to call slash to find out.
-
hard to put a price on a good trigger, the difference between a good trigger and a milspec trigger are night and day
-
being new to reloading myself, if I could do it again I would spend the money to get the most complete kit possible. you will need all the extras sooner or later and it will cost more in the long run.

NiB on a 308 bolt carrier can be done by WMD guns, dont know of anyone selling them already coated. WMD should be able to answer your question about the cerro over NiB. I have the maten NiB and the boltcarrier done. so far the combo seems to be wearing well. the maten comes with the bolt catch already installed. I also used a jp barrel kit. and would highly recomend them.

found this on another site and thought i would share it. tried it out and it works great. i would definatly recomend it to anyone. http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-651931.html

just finished my first box of loads, got the rcbs kit. the instructions were good and the parts all seem well made. it really is pretty easy if you read and follow the included instructions
-
got a fulton armory bolt carrier in phos and sent to wmd took about 31/2 weeks to get back. nice finish on it. cleans up easy and it matches the NiB on my mega reciever

DPMs bolt carrier problem
racerken70 replied to george_995's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
have a maten with no problems, hard to tell from your post, but the bolt catch catches the bolt and not the carrier. it also sounds like the review you quoted had a short stroking problem. -
just in from the NRA treaty is dead for now http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/articles/2012/nra-stops-un-arms-trade-treaty.aspx

off the jp website, 3-3.5 pound trigger pull for competition/recreational use. Kit includes yellow color coded trigger and hammer spring. ■ 3.5-4.0 pound trigger pull for enhanced reliability and provides good ignition reliability with any ammo. The red hammer spring with yellow trigger spring is also the minimum required for a 308 AR-10 set up. ■ 4-4.5 pound for police duty, military or any application in which 100% ignition reliability is demanded with low sensitivity primers or a heavier release is demanded by LE department requirements. May also be used for 308 AR-10 set ups. Kit includes grey hammer spring with yellow trigger spring. ■ 4.5 pound for CMP service rifle competition. Kit includes grey hammer spring with grey trigger spring

hi all, new to the forum, just starting my build. got the maten nib. its a great looking piece. its more of a flat silver look to it, not very flashy at all. should have some pics up soon in the ma-ten build section soon. just waiting on a few more packages to arrive.
