  1. I'll trade you a good used lee auto prime for that tactical leupy you got on your LR 8)
  2. I know it can be a little awkward asking a landowner, but you might try offering a helping hand when asking, say for instance, "I would be glad to give you a hand sometime fixing your fence or cleaning up a bit if you'd let me shoot my rifle out here." You will be surprised how well a little bartering will help get you in! just my .02. I have got in on some good hunting spots for a little elbow grease in trade...
  3. I love this Santa Claus thread!
  4. First off, Welcome! Now for the question, I have never had one in my hands, so not for sure but that being said, anytime I have a part that is "sticky" I try to smooth it out. I would carefully dissasemble the mag catch and polish all the parts on their pivot points or where they might be rubbing. I would use very ultra fine sand paper or even steel wool works great. A lot of these parts have too much finish material on them causing them to fit too tight. Remember, be very cautious and go slow, It wont take much to get them slick. Thats where I would start. Good luck
  5. Please post pics of the sweet Daisy... JK! LOL! I think all of us had one of those sweet BB guns, It starts somewhere huh! Hey, Glad to have ya man!
  6. Hey MAtt, Glad to have you!
  7. http://308forum.com/index.php?topic=121.0 Sorry for the confusion Botach Defense is an advertiser on the site and their prices are tops! New Stock, Used price though...
  8. First off, Welcome! I have been loading quite abit for mine and it has been very easy to load for. I havent pushed the limits or anything, but seeing fantastic accuracy and no pressure problems as of yet... Please post your results as you go in the reloading section. Thanks for joining!

  11. Glad to have ya!
  12. Welcome aboard! I have two PRS stocks and they are awesome and help balance the rifle very well. If you need one check with Botach. Again Glad to Have YA!
  13. Watching the stinkin wind blow!
  14. Absolutely taking off! Since when have semi auto rifles been allowed in benchrest comp??? Peoples eyes are opening up to the possibilities of the AR platforms and the accuracy potential! The tactical shooters are coming onboard also. It is only a matter of time...
  15. Yeah, I saw that on Botach (BY THE WAY IF YOU HAVENT HEARD ME SAY IT BEFORE, BOTACH ROCKS!!!) and thats a killer price at $1585. I have been seing them used for $1600-$1800 on GB. I have a good buddy that has one and it is a sweet rifle, and the sound you get when shooting one is second to none! I love that clang! The accuracy is not that great, but if you are looking at a 16" thats probably not your main concern. I was not impressed with the plastic stock either, its kinda like a cheap Rem 700 adl synthetic stock if you know what I mean. I really did like the older camo one that you are speaking of, I havent seen one of those in a while. Bottom line I guess is, it is what it is and a fine piece at that, so if you want one by golly, buy one!
  16. I also made mine, many years ago, very simple, and I just use valve lapping compound from the auto parts store. I don't see a need to buy the expensive stuff... As for one piece mounts, in theory, you shouldnt have to lap them but I have found that the do sometimes have sharp, or uneven edges. I don't think it absoultely neccesary on the one piece ones, but it only takes a minute so why not...
  17. "feel like toys" thats the truth! compared to the BIG BOYS... They are!
  18. 6.5 is here! Just waiting on my triggers from Jard and I will be starting up my build up!
  19. You know it!
  20. Good looking targets guys!!!
  21. Let me know what you need as I have some extra stuff.
  22. I bought a DPMS LR6.5. Buildup coming soon...
  23. Well, I did it. I hit the Buy it now tonight on a brand new in the wrapper DPMS LR65 which is the 24" SS Bull in 6.5 Creedmoor. Rest assured I will keep you guys posted on delivery and I plan on documenting fully all the mods I do and loads, ammo, etc. Yee Haw!
  24. "If you buy one, they will die" The deer that is... I personally like heavy barrels so I own a LR308 so thats what I will suggest, but the light barrels are great too, these rifles are lights out accurate! You will not be disappointed. Accuracy is awesome and you will be amazed, I would say half moa, and any better than that is your job, really probably under an moa would be... But these rifles are awesome and you will be proud to own it! Good luck and let us know what you get!!!
  25. Mine weighed 15lbs with bipod sling and 10 rds in the mag but that was pre- prs, I will have to weigh it again and I will report back. Heavy yes, but oh well it is one of the baddest azz tools in my safe so I will keep luggin it!
