imschur's avatar reminded me of this just now. My brother in law just got one of these for Christmas. It is a scope with a built in laser rangefinder. There is a wireless button you can mount up on the forearm to activate the Rangefinder, so you do not have to move your hand at all. Then when it ranges the target, it gives you the range and it lights up one of about 10 different very small dots on the vertical crosshair. You put the lite up dot on the target and pull the trigger!!! It works too, as we did a pretty good test on it this last weekend. Any ar15 grip will fit, but like you said, on .308's there are some socalled gaps. Magpul fixed there MIAD gap problem and came up with a filler piece. There is another item in Brownells that is made to move your hand back a bit to get a better trigger finger position. It makes the fit better with some grips. I had put one on my SR25 when I had it and it worked pretty good. I cannot remember what it is called, but if I see it in Brownells, I will come back and post it up.

You could take a look at the standard DPMS and Bushmaster has come out with an entry model. Go to there websites and take a look. Then you can go to GunsAmerica and do a search and see what they are selling for? There are also other sites that you could find a good used AR308 of some kind. If you want specifics, send me a PM. I am pretty sure they are the same. I have even heard of guys using the AR15 bolt catch and it worked, but I cannot be 100% sure. I guess I should not even be saying anything here if I am not 100% sure. imschur will be here soon, he is always around and I am sure he has your answer.
