  1. It is blowing and snowing like crazy here right now!!!!!
  2. OK, I had all kinds of funny crap about coyotes and prairie dogs, but I know you are serious about this. I would love to come to one of your schools to be schooled!!!!
  3. That is interesting!!!
  4. Welcome!
  5. I will & I think I have talked my wife into buying the .338 for my birthday!
  6. Welcome!
  7. OK! I am one that usually buys the best optics or at least, dream about it. But, I went to Cabelas & saw the Bushnell mini red dot that it very similar to the Aimpoint T1. I have to say, it works well! Not sure that i would want to have it in Iraq or Aghganistan, but i really do not think I'm going over there anytime soon. Anyway, for $99 bucks its impressive!
  8. I have never heard of or seen a 22-250 build on this platform. But, we are here to learn and I would like to see the outcome on your project! Welcome to the forum!! We are always happy to see a new face!!
  9. The mount from Larue is kind of similar to all top plates with tripods. The mount from Larue could easily be modifed with a dremel tool if it did not fit just right, but it a little expensive to be grinding on. Its your choice though. If you want to measure your existing top plate, I can measure the Larue one for you and we can compare notes.
  10. If you do get the Larue mount, you have to use the head in the pic I took. I have the other head that is a pistol grip and is vertical and the plate is different and does not work. The one in the pic is the only one that will work with the mount. I was sure they would all work, but found out the hard way and now have to very nice heads for my tripod.
  11. So what do you think about the setup?
  12. Yes, I would have to sell the .50 to get the wife to let me spend $3K on another!! All I really do is shoot at my range out to 600 so far, but have room to shoot 2000 if I dare to try. Other than that, I might try a coyote or prairie dog or maybe an antelope some day. Just fun stuff!!! The wife has plenty of money to spend, she just does not let me put my hands on it, yet!!! We just got married 1 year ago!!! I work full time still and she does not have to work at all ever again and maybe someday she will give me the nod to do the same?
  13. Larue makes the mount for the rifle and I went and picked up the heavy duty tripod and head locally. This SOB is rock solid!!! This is going to be one hell of a prairie dog shooting machine!!! The mount can be put on anything that has a rail on the bottom, so my AR15, AR308 or my .50 cal will work with this mount. I will mount up all three and post pics later. I'm not sure how the 28 lb. .50 cal will work?
  14. well, I will let you guys know if its worth the money!
  15. LOL!!! Yes, the .50 is for extra large prairie dogs and the .338 Lapua is for Med to large prairie dogs!!!
  16. Over the Christmas weekend, we were out on the ranch shooting all of our rifles. For the first time, I shot a .338 Lapua Magnum and now I just have to have one. Well, the wife says if I want the one that I do, which is a HS Precision, I have to sell my .50 cal to get it. Should I sell the .50 cal? My .50 is 28 pounds and a bitch to haul around. The .338 Lapua is 13 lbs and shoots out to the same distance as the .50, but in my opinion, more accuratly. I could easily take this out to shoot coyotes way out there or an antelope. Also, my wifes uncle on the ranch already has a .338 Lapua and is set up for reloading also. I think I can get $3000 for the .5o and all the extras, but the HS .338 Lapua is $3000 for just the rifle. No scope or anything else? Help me out here guys? <dontknow>
  17. I just picked a .223 one up for $135.00, as I just have to try it.
  18. Really though, If you want a nice shooting .338 Lapua, get one of Remingtons new PSS versions. They run about $1300 and I was banging the 600 yard target Christmas Eve all day long!!! Well, for about 2 hours!!! Its about the least expensive .338 you will find.
  19. 98Z5V, I posted up two .338 Lapua's for you, so your search is over! LOL!!! Just kidding!!!
  20. They have all kinds of good stuff!!! Thanks!!!
  21. Anyone try one of the Battle Comp flash/recoil reducers?
  22. When I got my Tactilite T1 .50 cal, they told me they could Cerakote it in any color I wanted for $300.00? Expensive? Depends how bad you want it!
