  1. i dont get why the rifle and carbine are 179 and the midlegth is 204, pisses me off! that is 40 rounds difference!
  2. i wish i had the money i would love to build a rifle right now! this is a good deal.
  3. i ahve shot their 45 acp in my glock and it was fine, was FMJ plinking stuff but did not have one problem with it and decently accurate. glad to hear the 308 stuff works well also.
  4. looks like i get a second chance for a moose this year, waited outside F&G office for 7 hours this morning to get in line for a first come first serve permit hunt. should be going out around oct 25th i will report back on how the trip goes, hopefully with good news!
  5. That is a good deal I wish I could get a deal like that up here but the shipping price is always tacked on and adds up quick. Let us know how it shoots.
  6. Still lots of revolvers in gun stores here. Even Fred myer and walmart carry Revolvers here mainly 44 mag and bigger and 22 for grouse and ptarmigan. I personally love both my rugers, 454 and 22.
  7. If they think palin is a redneck what does that make me? Haha and I am pretty sure pelosi would not last a second in Alaska, not by threat of the wildlife but the people... Haha lots of places to go missing up here... Hahaha
  8. thanks guys.
  9. for us up north the main hunting season, moose, has already come and gone. i only got to go out for a weekend and covered about 140 miles offroad and chased a couple but went out with an unpreparred hunting partner who ruined my one shot with his impatience. just for reference here is the general coordinates of where we camped: 62.40N, 147.45W just a little ways out there, lots of great scenery and wilderness. always love the feeling of knowing the nearest people are 60-70 miles away!
  10. Hello my name is Ryan and I am a gunoholic....... Oh not that kind of forum........ Haha Any ways I just stumbled on to this sight after buying my first black rifle a bushmaster ORC while I was in search for a new light black bear and caribou rifle. I also have a polytech M-14 which is what fired my passion for the semi auto 30 cals. No special experience with firearms bit I love to go out and shoot holes in almost anything I can legally be it targets or animals. Hoping to learn and contribute while modifying my new toy...... P.S. Thanks mods for the great sight and all the easy to search info! Kudo's
  11. Welcome I am a fng also so at least you aren't alone.
  12. I got yah. All I know is I like the trigger and don't plan on changing it anytime soon. Just thought I would share the experience for any one looking to buy one
  13. Actually the bushmaster is mine and the trigger was better strait out of the box. I just thought it was funny that mine shot better stock than his dpms when they are made by the same people.
  14. I heard the remncame with a single stage trigger any one fired one to know if that is true? I shot a buddies dpms sporadical and his had twice the trigger pull my bushmaster does so I am wondering if they have different triggers for different models or if it is just a variance in manufacturing. Any one shed some light on the subject?
  15. i havent seen a rem not camoed and i dont think they are offered that way unfortunately. the remington and bushmaster are also both the same as the DPMS and i know they have a 20" barrel and black. i loved the rem too but did not want to have a black upper on a camo bottom or have to paint such. I ended up just getting a bushmaster ORC cuase the price is right but i would love to find a rem 20" upper for it or build one in black.
  16. thanks, i was pretty happy walking out with the rifle scope and range finder for the origional MSRP of the rifle itself. i was actually just there to get some ammo and walked out with alot more than the wife thought i would...hahaha
  17. hahahaha who said i wasn't.....hahaha well here are some pics, sorry they are not too quality, just off of the Iphone. [img width=810 height=605]http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p357/ryantowry_81/iphonepictures193.jpg [img width=810 height=605]http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p357/ryantowry_81/iphonepictures192.jpg [img width=810 height=605]http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p357/ryantowry_81/iphonepictures191.jpg [img width=810 height=605]http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p357/ryantowry_81/iphonepictures190.jpg [img width=810 height=605]http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p357/ryantowry_81/iphonepictures189.jpg you can see i already added a houge and went to the local shop an dpicked up a foctory DPMS mag he had laying around for 20 bucks and a beer(long story) plans so far are a FSC30 break and a bipod and then go see what i can kill with it be it targets or coyotes/bear/moose/sheep/liberals...... i will get some grouping pictures with some factory stuff here soon and hopefully over winter with some hand loads. on another note i am a rookie when it comes to black rifles as this is my first to own but i have shot my fair share and this gun has a very nice trigger for a 800 dollar bushmaster, by that it is very crisp with little to no noticeable creep and was half the weight of both of my friends stock RRA and stag ar-15 triggers. i was expecting soemthing alot more like my polytech m-14 trigger not something as nice as came in this bushmaster. i know i would get stoned in some circles for this statement but i am actually selling the m-14 in favor of this gun..........i mean it is lighter, shorter, more accurate, mags are the same price and size, and there are more parts and options available for modification. i mean as a hunter the length and weight is the biggest selling point especially for my wife, she liked shooting this alot better than the m-14.
  18. I am cleaning it right now and will take some pics but can't get them posted up till I get back to work tomorrow morning. I will post up some groups next time I go out too so you guys know I am not one of those I can hit a quarter at 2000 yards with one hand types.... Haha
  19. i actually purchased one of these at my local sportsmans wharehouse last weekend because it was red tagged for $750!! thing shoots great and reliably accurate. had a couple 1.5" groups at 100 yards with surplus british ammo. that is with the addition of a nikon monarch 4x12. only gripe is the gas block with there "milled" style, would be nicer with picitanny rail for backup irons to be mounted easier. just my opinion though.
