Hi Hooz Ive built 5 308's using Rainier select barrels... 4 were 18" and one is 16"...its my favorite! I own 3 of em and 2 were built for friends....so we shoot steel at 500 and under....using fgmm 168grain they all shoot moa and under <thumbsup> the "poly woddle doodle all the day barrels" are sweet and never seem to foul <thumbsup> just this saturday me,Char, and my friend that i built one for were taking turns keeping the steel swinger(2inchsquare) spinning at 200 at a rapid pace ..it was giggles all up and down the line... :) Wash
after a great day at the range...and comparing my Bud's leupold vx3 6.5x20x50 varmint scope to my nikon 8x32x50 bdc scope.....I ordered another nikon 8x32 <lmao> plus a 20 moa slope scope mount <thumbsup> hey...look at all the money I saved <lmao> Wash
Hi Terry I had a chance a month ago to a/b my buds leupy 6.5x20x50 varmint reticle and again Saturday against my Nikon monarchs 6x24x50 and my 8x32x50.....the leupold costs bout 9 bills and ive had the hots for one ever since i looked thru his at his home....but now...sitting side by side shooting the same targets with the same ar308 mega's at 200 yards...a 2 inch square steel swinger against a backdrop of a black gumbo dirtpile...I will gladly take the Nikons...either one and pocket the difference....or buy two of the Monarchs <laughs> Wash
Imagine this If everbody kept fish...there would be "world Peas" <lmao> Shepp...me and you know the fine art of keeping fish.... <thumbsup> the others...well they just sit around watching MSNBC sniffing Hoppes #9 <lmao> <laughs> 8) Wash
Thanks Guys Tkopper ive got the Geissele SSA enhanced in one of my 308's...great trigger...BUT their super 3 gun trigger beats the ssa hands down! <thumbsup> Wash
Hi Blazer ive got a troy trx battlerail 13.8 on my newly built rainier 16".....its the nutz....gas block is covered and with a cooley comp on the end you have one mean mofo. recoil is nada....concussion on either side causes people on either side of you to pack up their gear and leave you all the room you want on the firing line <lmao> Wash
Hi Tkopper " Yep. I totally understand. I am focusing more on hunting for this build so my enemy is in fact weight as I am more of a still hunte" So stay away from the Super SASS barrel ....had one...took two boys and a mule to carry it <laughs> my raineier 16" /mega came in at 9.5 lbs loaded 20 rd mag no optics ...which is pretty freakin light. but its also a monolithic...so it weighs a lil less..oh one thing....triggers....yes I now drink the kool-aid...Geissele super 3 gun.....is the ticket... it will make you a better shot! <thumbsup>Wash
98Z I hate it for you guys... but, I hope Sandy LEVELED the ex's house in VA, and I hope she's now snowed down with 3 feet of white hell, on top of a leveled house. I'm just sayin'... Karma will kick you in the nutz at the worst time. I hope it's her worst time. <dontknow> Maybe when she gets there she and my ex could be friends? <lmao> Wash
Shepp yep the south american cichlids are beutyiful under the right lighting spectrum...didnt they first come from that lake titikica or something like that? <laughs> you got some nice tanks running...love those oscars...just like puppy dogs! Wash
Shepp You into tropicals or saltwater or reef tanks? I had saltwater back in the late 60's when you had to paint your steel frames with shellec so it wouldnt corrode....in 1968 I managed a pet shop <laughs> while going to college....guy walks in with a tank that had no steel frame WTF...said he worked at Texas Instruments...and this tank was put together with this stuff from DOW called silicone <laughs> daaaamn I bought all he could make and called the fish importer and ordered the salts and fish....back in the day it was great if the lil suckers stayed alive for 3 months <lmao> I started when I was 9 with the tropicals....tanks all over my room! I used to ride my bike to the fish place and race home during summer before the fish died from getting overheated <lmao> Wash
Hi Tkopper I have 3 mega ma 10 's and ive built 2 more for my friends. ill put the mega's up against any lower /upper fit and finish is awesome...you get no surprises when you go to build. ive used the rainier 16" and 18" barrels on all builds. they all shoot sub moa out to 500 yds....these are the select barrels too... not the match grades Ive been having more fun with the 16" lately shootin steel with all these guys with their big azz 20 pound rifles and me bangin the hell out of the steel at 500 with my lil mini me 308 dont get hung up on the bull barrel syndrome! <thumbsup> Wash
Hi Jon 308 Get the troy extreme battlerail trx in 13.8 inch its nice...looks good... ive got three of them on my builds. covers up the gas block and is fairly light..you got to have a low pro gas block...you may have one on your rifle already? the barrel nut comes with the handguard....troy uses standard 308 type wrench for this....dunno what you need for a wrench on the one you have though? <thumbsup> Wash
