Hi Guys Friday nite beer can chicken clean that bird...spray inside and outside with spray pam put your rub inside and out...then spray a lil more pam on the rub....drink half your can of beer <laughs> put the other on the chicken stand....drinking a half can of beer is stupid...so open another can of beer for <laughs> yourself.....put the bird in the smoker at 325 degrees and pull the bird when 200 degrees internal.... should be less than 2 hours heres my idea of proper smoke :) Wash now if we had a cheery cheese pie for desert <thumbsup>

Hi Shepp here is one of my butt smokes 6/7 lb butt bone in....tried the no bone wasnt as good slather with mustard and your rub nite before...refridge this is bout a 10 hour deal at least so do your planning bring up smoker to 225... butt at room temp I use different woods...but its easy for me cause im using a pellet smoker and can get mixtures of woods or straight wood pecan...hickory...oak spray with applejuice /water mixture every hour or so when internal temp gets to 160 degrees...wrap with foil and add half cup of the apple juice mixture...that is prolly at the 8 hour mark...when the foil goes on the smoking stops and then your just baking....so,to answer your question bout the smoke ring...2 hours of smoke wont get you a ring on a butt....you need smoke for a longer time :) when internal is 200 degrees pull it off keep it wrapped in the foil and put the wrapped butt in a beer cooler with bath towel over the top and under the bottom...and let it rest for an hour or so :) Wash

Hi Tg I believe Slashes buffers has a spredsheet on just what you are looking for...go check it out I dunno why folks have troubles with buffer springs and what not... especially when they buy them new from the mfg? Ive built five mega 308's this last year and have never ever had a buffer/buffer spring problem nor a bolt catch prob...I always just use the plain ol buffer and buffer spring,but on a couple I tried the Tubbs flatwire spring and no problems with that one either. In a lot of cases it seems lack of lube in a rifle and using crap steel cased ammo will give you cycling problems. :) Wash

Hi Russ Here is one with 16" barrel and the midwest ss rail....this one is the lightest of the three and is a freakin tackdriver .the 6.8 is fun to shoot and puts the smackdown on hogs and deer....ammo is a lil pricey :) Wash

It just doesnt get any better...when you put one together stand back and take a look ....nothing but smiles! every mega functions perfectly...gotta love em...need help ? holler at me :) Wash

Hi Guys For the first time ever...just couldnt get it in <laughs> For the last two days ive been trying to fit a 6.8 barrel into a mega monolithic. Okay,so i sanded off the melonite off the extension....lubed everything...no go all the way....you cant see the pin on a monolithic and you cant get to the upper cylinder from the muzzle side cause of the one piece rail. and if you try to use the barrel nut to push it on its bad juju sez directions...of course you would never do that anyway.....so yesterday it was the freezer for the barrel and a hair drier for the upper...no go in all the way.....daaaamn ..and trying from inside the reciever the finish laffs at you with any kind of sandpaper <laughs> if it wasnt a monolithic i could get to the upper with a dremel...but no that wont work with this mono and it wont fit thru the upper either...and nope a flex dremel wont work...daaamn im starting to get teed off <lmao> looks like a trip to harbor freight....dunno why I wanted to go there ,but something whispered to me <laughs> So,im walking the aisles in the automotive section....Ahhhh what have we got here? <laughs> Its a brake cylinder hone 1" 1/8 with three lil hone blades on a stem 9" long... 10 bucks. So I was able to enter the upper from the butt stock end and have the hones in the reciever cylinder with bout an 1" sticking out so I was able to use my battery powered drill. Hell Yes! I kept tightening down the hones and finally that bad azz teflon coating from Hell came off ! the barrel... finally after days of struggle fit right on in! <laughs> best ten bucks ive spent in a while :) Wash
