Big its a kewl thing that yall are building together....Im just trying to talk yall out of a 20" bull barrel that will be a pig to carry and not much fun at all. .there are barrels in the price range that will prolly out shoot this no name heavy azz barrel that's all im saying. Have you ever held or shot a 20" bull barrel ar 308 before? If you want us to help you out just shout out...otherwise carry on Wash

Hey Jeff Ive found that 99% of the 308's I build...if you put a round in it being a brand new build..and you don't fire the rifle...you will be scratchin your azz on how in the heck to get the unfired round out...So I never put a round in a new build unless im gonna fire it...just a new tight chamber...I bet if you put a round in there and fire the rifle you wont have the problem....aint no big deal...don't let anyone be reaming or polishing on that chamber until you fire a few rounds and see what shakes out Wash

Okay guys this will help you in choosing a great scope. So last nite was opening night of Texas Rat season....you can only shoot does and the limit is 10. You cant shoot center mass cause it will ruin the meat.This gal was shot at 400 yds right in the jaw using 168 privi . So this is the reason for great glass....since the buck rats dont have horns you need a scope that can see the nipples on the doe Case closed! Wash

Right on Sisco ...you said " M " stands for their Monarch series , a big step above the " P" which is their Prostaff series & they have several grades of it , but the Monarch is their top of the line glass . While the others are good , the Monarch glass is their best & once you compare them , you will see . All will be great at 100 yards , but going past that the Monarch will show off the others . Before I got the M-308's I had Monarchs on pretty much everything they shot lights- outs,but the reticles were not to my liking...so get me a M-308 and compare at the range and all my Monarchs got put on ebay so I could get more m-308's. I like em cause once you get em dialed in, the bdc works great out to 500 fairly good... at 2,3,4 hundred the bdc would allow me to shoot moa using the privy 168 match....500 would hit a man size steel plate but no moa.... ..and now its sad to say that the range closed down because of a azzhat neighbor miles away complaining..... back to the Nikon its good ...but then theres the Vortex pst's...don't ever look thru one of those it will spoil you and drain your wallet in a flash ,but we are talkin close to a grand including the mount....as luck would have it a friend is a dealer for vortex Wash

Thorax I had a hiperfire do the same thing...but I cant remember whether it was in a Mega or not.....I put it in a ar15 and all is well... chances are it was a Mega cause most of my 308's are Mega's...you will know soon enough Wash yep now I remember it was the Mega that the hiperfire didnt work in...follow this post on the elftman and hiperfire

Morgan way to go....our 500 yd range shutdown this last summer ..such a shame....all we have now is lousy 100 yd ranges.... get your scope on ..you will like it a bunch...if the P is anything like the m you can zero at 100 then all substentions are right on the money provided you use the 168 match...so I guess I need to move to your State...you got more long distance ranges than I do...lol Wash
