Rc Welcome from Texas! Why not build what you want? Us old folks need to keep our minds sharp and busy...so build one...it aint rocket science.I myself am starting a new build. Ive got plenty of 308's...so I was looking into a 6.5 myself...sweeet round...but since i dont reload the cost of ,and the selection of 6.5 looks kinda pricey...im on the fence. But just build ya a 6.5 and build it light Wash
-
I really do think those 16" light profile barrels suk! Wash Yes the groups do spread out after the barrel gets hot
-
MJ Get you a Tubbs spring....same one for car or rifle stock...and a plain ol 308 buffer cant go wrong....and ar 15 milspec buffer tube Wash
-
Welcome from Texas get you a 16/18 inch barrel of a light profile...you will shoot good and the rifle wont need a wheel barrow to tote it around Wash

Thats why I love ya 98 you and only you could come up with that Wash -
Rss you said "Its not hydraulic, normal buffer for the most part, just has an ext to prevent tilt, but check it out, lots of guys seem to dig it. Half the price of the JP too." Lots of guys dig it? who does? where at? I think only one person tried it here and had problems...If i remember correctly you are building your 308 for the first time...correct? You need to stick with what works first and get your rifle broken in...then if you wanna get some oddball pieces be my guest....now you have another person thats trying to build a 308 for the first time following your recommendation MJH just please use what works for all...get a freakin spring and buffer......silent capture for what rattle? none of my 308's rattle I challenge you to make any of mine rattle take that money and either set it on fire or go buy a nice dinner....better yet buy a spring and buffer Wash
-
Rss please please dont go hydraulic shock on us ....just get what effin works lol..... save the money for what works...a freakin spring and a freakin buffer Geeeez Wash
-
Just for you 308 Newb who came here asking how to put his one and only 308 together Wash
-
I thought the op was talking about mags for his ar308? Then you Newb started talking bout m4 ar15 mags? How in the hell does a lancer mag for an ar15 compare to what the op was asking?Wasnt the question about mags for an ar308? I dont plan on beating the crap out of my mags anyways.....these lancer 308 mags are first class...btw anyone who keeps their mags in a laundry basket shouldnt even own a rifle Wash

Well crap I was looking for some DPMs stripped lowers for the forum members...found 3 of em...dammit ended up buying one..cause I called to verify that they had em in stock and they were the right lower, and the guy sez yes whats your credit card number and what FFL do you wanna send it to? I had to give him the info...so I get a pass on rule #2 the next time. BUT DPMS always has lr 308 as a part number now its 60616..hmmmmm thats the reason why I called them...the phone dude went and got one..yep its a dpms 308 ..and thats how I took one for the team Wash https://www.tombstonetactical.com/catalog/dpms/308-lr-05-panther-lr-308-lower-receiver-308win-bl

I like Sg also nice family run place fast shipping.... Bean/Ar trooper...my neighbor is a worse shot than me but we have kissed and made up...living less than 300 yds away from the police station keeps things calm too.... when I went out to the alley and had my HK 9 to find out what all the hammering was about it only took me going inside to put the gun up til the popo showed up in my driveway alley...they didnt use a car they just ran from the station house....scared the crap out of me ! it was only the fact that Char takes her brownies over there once a month that kept everything ok Ha so now the popo gal that buzzes us into the inner station calls me the alley gun guy...as she took the call that day....when we went over there after that lil deal to take brownies she asked me if I was the guy in the alley with the axe or the gun? I said what? you mean theres a nut running around the hood with an axe? Wash

Cap depends on what gas tube length...Jt has a rifle length ..he had to enlarge the port and ex caliber would not help...bout .093 is a good place to be with rifle length for a start Wash

Posted September 14, 2015 · Report post From X-caliber "I would be happy to get that back from you to check it. We do test our barrels before we do gas port sizes and make sure it works with carbine and rifle buffer systems and we do not give out the gas port sizes as those are valuable industry secrets so when people ask we do not answer the question of gas port size." "-It could be the barrel but I might be able to diagnose it better with all your stuff in it." I'm torn now, send it in or drill it out myself??????? I had to order a set of bits as nobody had them here in town. Thats some pure crapola right there lol You can doo it JT drill it brother... go big or go home Wash Sorry Cap...its an industry secret Wash
-
Cap just do yourself a favor...call them and ask them what the gas port size is? Report back Wash
-
