Hey Tex Welcome aboard ! So a Texas A&M fan/Alum? I have several 308's and my longest barrel is 18" and it pretty much stays in the bunker 16" barrel with a midlength gas system will do the job out to 500 with targets easy...if you're huntin well it would be a lot less I would hope.. these 308's can get real heavy real fast and then they aint no fun to lug around. Mega's are nice and Rainier Arms has some nice barrels. You will want a mil spec buffer tube...and a butt stock of your choice in mil spec....you will need a DPMS type claw to hold your upper while you install the barrel/gas block...and handguard of your choice.... building an AR308 as a first build isnt really the thing to do though...they dont go together as easy as an ar15 OH Wait....you're an Aggie....I forgot...you need to go buy a 308 already built... Ive seen it with my own two eyes...Aggies can not chew gum and walk at the same time LOL ...........just kidding...my uncle is an Aggie to the tenth degree...his King Air is painted in A&M colors Wash

NOT when You can hurt yourself or someone else....Hell No I wont be patient....I can tell by the way the tang is not into the slot enough and the way the barrel nut is off the front of the upper to know YOU didnt tighten the handguard or the barrel nut down even close to what it needs to be. and YOU didnt have the proper tools to start with..all of these fine brothers here trying to resolve YOUR problems when YOU dont even have any way to torque the barrel nut down or measure the torque...which makes it hard for us to help. We are trying to figure out a multitude of problems which has been caused by You not even doing the basics...You didnt "level" with us on the assembly of your rifle ....you are an AZZHAT Wash ". I've written everything down to fix the feeding issue one at a time. And I will get this feeding issue fixed. but its not what I am here for. Yet...." Right there ^^^^ What in the FUK is that shim for??? and what in the FUK is it made out of? And my guess is you had no proper tools ,vises...or brainpower to assemble this and get it torqued down....go look up what the word torque means you nitwit I knew something caught my eye everytime I looked at your $hit....You put a Piece of Cardboard or some piece o $hit material to shim up the barrel nut to the upper You Stoopid Fuk Head..... no wonder its about to explode and wont feed or extract Wash

I tested the adjustable gas block odin works. As much as I can until the bolt finally catches on the catch with an empty mag. Of course shooting 1 round at a time. Of course I have a feeding problem. I've read all the diagnosis here on the forums. I've written everything down to fix the feeding issue one at a time. And I will get this feeding issue fixed. but its not what I am here for. Yet.... So now YOU are asking about tools and vise blocks for 308's ? How in the FUK did you put this rifle together if YOU are now asking about tools and vise blocks that YOU cant seem to find?
