  1. Welcome aboard.
  2. Welcome aboard, you've made a good choice in both brand name and the company you keep. ;D
  3. I'll call that unlikely in this case. I've cycled about 10 3 shot groups through my new one without a problem. YMMV

    Its that time

now now...to each their own. I don't hunt over food either but don't condemn those who do. Lot's of people have limited time and limited space to hunt and "think" that is their best chance. Where you live it sounds awesome. Good luck BCG. Our season in Michigan doesn't start till Oct1 if you don't count the kids hunts and early doe season. Coyote is already on and small game starts Sept 15. I wonder what a squirrel looks like after being hit by 308? hmmmmmmmm JK
  5. I only reload for 223, 308 and 357. I do it all with a Lee hand press. You'll work your chest muscles a bit full length sizing 308 though <laughs>. Like was said earlier...the lengthy part of reloading isn't putting the bullets in. I prefer to powder measure all by hand for accuracy (I'm still working on that part ;D ) It seems most of the time consuming part of reloading is prepping the brass I spend a night sizing, a night in the tumbler for really dirty brass ( not a necessity but shiney brass looks perdy ;D an evening priming with hand primer then I can load about 60 or 80 in a couple hours. So you see, even though you might not have a lot of time to spend on it at any given time, even with a hand press you can load several hundred in a week. Now I don't shoot tons so that's way more than I usually load and shoot. YMMV
  6. I see your preferance, but I just bought a 5 rounder from Midway I think 2 weeks ago. #833990 $25 shipped that same day.

    ARish shotgun

Aren't all guns by nature "destructive devices"? <dontknow> What a crock
  8. so, in lieu of what I've been reading here. An adjustable gas block can help take some of the punishment away from parts and body?
  9. Is it possible to nick a short port and have a longer one added?
  10. "Just be prepared, at any point in time, because you never know when it's going to happen."
  11. My buddy has a RRA in 308. Does anybody make 5 round mags to fit it?
  12. I have some 20 and 30 round AK mags that I'd be happy to trade 2 for 1 for some AR Pmags either 223 or 308.
  13. I decided to dive into the trigger yesterday. I've never worked on the AR platform but I've seen a few other triggers. Simple design, came apart easily. I took my dremel to the trigger and sear mating surfaces just enough to remove the machine marks. What a difference. Smooth as glass, breaks around 4 to 5 pounds. Much better than what it was and all the grit is gone.

    work

I lived just north of Scottsdale, officially Cave Creek. We moved from Oregon in July. From 84 to 114. "it's a dry heat" I don't give a rat's ass......it was HOT. I tried riding without my helmet just one time. Never again. It was better to sweat inside and retain a little moisture. I'd never choose to live in that part of the desert again.
  15. For running dual antenna you just have a splitter behind your radio. A tuner is pretty cheap and worth having if you run with a group that use CB's...such as off roaders. I really liked my unit where everything was in tht handset. Not tweakable but very compact.
  16. I love this place so far. People are very helpful to the newcomers and answer all questions no matter how mundane, unlike many sites that get so big that at least 1/3 have an attitude and are trouble makers. <thumbsup> <thumbsup>
  17. 1" scope riser 2 brass catch bags latch bolt detent spring <dontknow>
  18. Thanks to all. Well it looks like I'll be back into that Oracle. I should be trading my Savage model 10, 26" heavy barrel for it this afternoon. <lmao>
  19. Welcome aboard. <thumbsup>
  20. Welcome from Michigan
  21. I googled AR10 forums and here I am ;D
  22. Welcome aboard. I wish I had advice for you...but I'm new <dontknow>
  23. And that is exactly why I want one ;D Nice shooting
  24. I ask all this because I'm really temped to just buy a Sportical.
  25. My understanding is that the R25 is DPMS. The run in the $1400 range.
