  1. I don't like carrying 30 rounds....I can't imagine 50
  2. Welcome aboard. Don't shoot angry :D
  3. I also have the Oracle, it's chrome moly not chrome lined. I like it a lot for a short barreled rifle. Mine shoots right around MOA without being free floated and just run of the mil reloads. I'm currently shooting 175 SMK and 150 SP to same point of aim @ 100 and less than a minute apart @ 400.
  4. I bought one of these so i can use a bipod. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heavy-Duty-Carbine-Length-Quad-Rail-/250874601939 no free float but it shoots well
  5. Welcome aboard
  6. Well, I found one of the Caldwell 10" ar550 gongs with stand for $83 shipped. So one of those is on the way for some 800 yard practice.
  7. Nothing like keeping the weight down on your weapon eh? <munch>

    Hog Hunt

I watch them kill them on TV with a knife by hand. How hard can it be <lmao> 50 BMG should get it done. <munch> As with any hunt, shot placement is where it's at. I would think 308 should be plenty.
  9. My cleaning experience is limited ;D I shoot dirty guns a lot. But I do know that brass and solvent make black every time.
  10. Are you cleaning with a brass brush?
  11. Why would DPMS make the front rail lower than the mail rail? I just bought some railed handguards that are carbine length and not free floating......just to replace the glaciers and allow a bipod. They run on the same level as the main scope rail and it pointed out immediately that the gas block rail is lower. ??
  12. My wife would like to some times <laughs>
  13. 500 rds of 69Gr SMK Somebody take my wallet.
  14. I now have a RCBS trim station on the way, 2000 rounds of LC brass got tiring after the first 200 :o I just got my rails (not freefloating) and have a bipod adapter on the way as well. My sig says it all.
  15. It looks like you might have some on the way from Mexico
  16. Yeah......I really hate spending time on the firing line. ??? <laughs>
  17. All the variables you mention will all be the same except for the amount of powder. Since it's a gas system I thought maybe the extra powder made extra gas? I'll try setting it to the 175 and we'll see what happens. <thumbsup>
  18. If I'm shooting a 175 grain load @ 2255 and a 150 grain load @ 2440 (these numbers are from a program on my phone that I adjusted so the program met the real world numbers) Which one would you adjust your gas block so that both would work with that one setting? Since I'm running 1.5 grains more in powder on the 150 does it produce more gas?
  19. I got all that from a lot of previous reading. I'm actually pretty excited now with a 175 and a 150 load that shoot with 1/4 moa @ 200 and 1 moa @400. All approximate but good enough to hit clay pigeons at those distances tonight with both loads. <thumbsup> now to work out the 223.
  20. Actually I solved my problem by full length sizing my brass. I wasn't shooting 308 through it I just had some lying around that I tried chambering. I'm using 7.62 brass.
  21. Welcome aboard, lots of good information and helpful users here. <thumbsup>
  22. DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN that always works right? <dontknow>
  23. I had seen quite a few good reviews on http://www.opticsplanet.net/celestron-spotting-scope-spotter-52291.html this one. The clarity is amazing. It's 50 power. It's also 5" in diameter so it's not compact by any means. I have yet to get it to the range but sitting on the deck looking at boats a 1/2 mile out or more I could read the numbers on the sails.

    Its that time

Yep, pics or it didn't happen. Isn't there a rule about that somewhere? ;)
  25. In the reading I've been doing I saw somebody mention just backing off the fl size a smidgen. I'll be giving that a try. When they start to crack I guess I'll know it's time to anneal <dontknow>
