  2. I have about 5 or 6 different OLD bayonets I brought back from various parts of the world back in the 80's. I need to pull those sucker suckers out and do some research on them. <thumbsup>
  3. To me more specific what is being engraved in to the piece? Is it a logo? If it's a logo is it the official loco of the company that is manufacturing the produce? etc etc

    Quotes

"If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck" Never let someone or thing that threatens you get inside arm’s length and never say "I got a gun". If you feel you need to use deadly force for heaven’s sake let the "first sound they hear is the safety clicking off" and they shouldn't have time to hear anything after that if you are doing your job. 'The average response time of a 911 call is over 3 minutes....the response time of a .44 magnum is 1400 feet per second.' "The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win and cheat if necessary." "Don't forget, incoming fire has the right of way.." "Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets. You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, because it's going to be empty." "If you're not shooting', you should be loading'. If you're not loading', you should be moving', if you're not moving', someone's going to cut your head off and put it on a stick." "When you reload in low light encounters, don't put your flashlight in your back pocket.. If you light yourself up, you'll look like an angel or the tooth fairy...and you're going to be one of 'em pretty soon." "Do something. It may be wrong, but do something." "Shoot what's available, as long as it's available, until something else becomes available." "If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. That's ridiculous. If you have a gun, what in the hell do you have to be paranoid for?" "Don't shoot fast, unless you also shoot well." "You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or use any other word you think will work, but I've found that a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much the universal language." "You have the rest of your life to solve your problems. How long you live depends on how well you do it." "You cannot save the planet but you may be able to save yourself and your family." The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll just kill you. I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away. A reporter did a human-interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt Model 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him 'Why do you carry a 45?' The Ranger responded, 'Because they don't make a 46.' An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity. The old sheriff was attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. 'Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?' 'No ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought my rifle.' Beware of the woman who only has one gun, because she probably knows how to use it very well. 'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton A people that values its privileges above its principles will soon lose both. "Those who hammer their guns into plows will plow for those who do not..." - Thomas Jefferson ”Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.” ~Unknown ”The philosophy of gun control: Teenagers are roaring through town at 90MPH, where the speed limit is 25. Your solution is to lower the speed limit to 20.” ~Sam Cohen (inventor of the neutron bomb) ”An unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it.” ~Col. Jeff Cooper “Already a couple of the faithful have sent in checks for a foundation memorial to the innocents who perished at the hands of the ninja at Waco. … I have been criticized by referring to our federal masked men as “ninja” … Let us reflect upon the fact that a man who covers his face shows reason to be ashamed of what he is doing. A man who takes it upon himself to shed blood while concealing his identity is a revolting perversion of the warrior ethic. It has long been my conviction that a masked man with a gun is a target. I see no reason to change that view.” ~Col. Jeff Cooper
  6. Just as soon as this post was started the hair on the back of my head stood up. I think you all have been had myself and I think Unforgiven hit the nail on the head. It doesn't sound like a female posting to me. It wreaks of a male trying to post like a female. Just my .02 worth.
  7. OOPS! I posted on the wrong forum. My bad! :(
  8. Also keep in mind that when copying any official ID in color you need to either blow it up by 15% or reduce it by 15%. Any good copy shop should know this. That way you get around any question that it is an attempt to duplicate an official ID with the intent of using it as a real ID. A color ID copied in black and white it really doesn't matter but I personally blow them up too. Been there and done that for over 15 years now since I own a copy/print/sign shop.
  9. AD could be easily verified through AKO. Every military soldier active and retired has access to AKO.
  10. Excellent point bigt77 and very doable.
  11. The military side of the house should be very easy. EVERY soldier receives a DD214 and all we would have to do is get them to send us a copy for review. I would suggest that they blank out the SSN prior to sending it though for security reasons. Yea, there have been quite a few people forge the DD214 and normally it takes someone that knows their career path to spot it but at times it's easy to spot a fake DD214. I'd be glad to look over the DD214's if needed. PS I would make it a requirement to provide a DD214 in order for former military members to have access to the MIL/LEO side of the house.
  12. THE FINAL INSPECTION The Soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass. 'Step forward now, Soldier, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?' The soldier squared his shoulders and said, 'No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep... Though I worked a lot of overtime, When the bills got just too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the Soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. 'Step forward now, you Soldier, You've borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell.' Author Unknown~

  15. It'll definitely increase the sale of replacement barrels. <thumbsup>
  16. Unfortunately I'm trying to keep the scope pretty much centered on the rife to maximize adjustments let to right as well as trying to keep the line of sight going straight down the barrel for accuracy. Now if I could find a set of rings that I could file off both sides that would work that would be perfect but from what I've found so far it would take a milling machine to take off the material as they are recessed which of course may be one of my last options.
  17. That's an option but it sure would be nice to find one that fits. I'll find one. It's just a matter of time. So far this is the only thing I've seen but it's VERY tall. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBKGix2iQwo
  18. I pulled out my dad's old .22 rifle that I learned on as a kid which was produced by High standard for Sears MANY years ago. (I'm 50 so it's OLD like me). The problem is that all 3/8" mounts are too large as they max out just prior to actually contacting the rail itself. I measured the rail and it's 8.5mm wide but for the life of me I can't seem to find any 1" mounts for a rail system that wide. I have a request into Brownells to see if they have anything that will fit. Anyone have any other ideas?
  19. I did the same thing this year to a small 4 stroke dirtb bike for my grand-kids. I TOTALLY forgot to put stabilizer in it. Once you've cleaned it with carb cleaner get some starting fluid and spray it into the intake if it doesn't want to start. If you cant get to the intake remove the spark plug and spray it in there.
  20. My favorite handgun is a: "Locked and Cocked One". <thumbsup>
