My Addax ZK came with it. I had a FDE replacement waiting for it when it arrived, so I immediately replaced it and it has sat pretty much untouched ever since. In other words, it's in brand new condition. I had originally planned to use it in an AR-15 build for my nephew but I have since decided to build him an M-4 carbine variant with a rail. So now I have no use for it. Selling for $25

I just talked with Colfax Tactical yesterday and informed them that you guys have been asking them questions. They informed me that they haven't been following this board lately, stating that they've been too busy with their work. I think they mentioned something about answering some questions for you guys in the near future. The owner also informed me that the noise I was hearing in the background was the first batch of .308 80%s being milled and informs me that they may have some ready around the end of the month. He also said he doesn't have a sure price yet but thinks it'll be somewhere around $150 - $160

That's going to come off very easy. However, if you can get spray paint in desert tan you can spray it with wood lacquer and once the "yellow" shade of the lacquer sets in it'll be a perfect FDE color. It's not perfectly stout but it holds up far better then just paint. Testors model spray paint works better then Crylon and can be gotten in just about any color commonly used on gun parts and accessories.

I have a huge slab of thick leather you're free to. It's covered in rat urine and droppings and has been sitting in a wood pile for over a month now but can probably be cleaned up. I can get it cleaned up to some degree before shipping. Someone gave it to me in exchange for knife service. I used it mainly for making leather pallets out of until a relative of mine got a hold of it and left it in the worst possible place. It's still useable though. If I weren't a germ-a-phoebe I would still be using it.

Gun death - Becha didn't think anyone was dumb enough to do this
MaDuce replied to MaDuce's topic in Club House
A few years ago Darwin Awards were discussing whether or not to call it quits or keep doing their thing. They mentioned leaving the sight up either way. Sounds to me like they chose to call it quits. -
LOL. That's an interesting way to protect a receiver in a vice.

LOL. I personally would go with this thing: http://vanda-layindustries.com/html/acra_mill_plus.html

Today, Saturday, February 18 at 3:16PM Pacific Standard Time, the .44 Magnum Sova fired a live round for the first time. The load was a Miwall 240gr led cast round. The gun not only fired the round without any damage or the slightest indication of parts battering but the recoil was extraordinarily light. By average comprehension about 25% less then what that same load produces in the Desert Eagle. THE .44 MAGNUM SOVA WORKS!

Robocop1051's Mega Arms Billet Ambidextrous AR15
MaDuce replied to Robocop1051's topic in Black Rifles
My addax ZK recoils like a .22LR as well. I think it's a combination of the extra weight of the gas pistons and the muzzle attachments. Congrats on completing your new build. -

Cool! I've learned through experience that manufacturers pay TOO good attention to stuff like that. I posted a sketch of the original .44 Magnum Sova design back when the idea was first conceived nearly a decade ago and with it described the component grip system. 2 years later I see HK came out with the P-30 handgun which has a watered down version of it. Though I doubt they got the idea from me (probably got theirs from HK), Command Arms interchangeable grip came out with literally all the parts of the original design that HKs gun did not come with, save for the trigger guard. Since my design still puts both to shame, I am actually glad Command Arms came out with theirs and use it on all my rifles. Saves me the trouble. I also posted a sketch a while ago of a rifle I was designing (which devolved in to a body for the AR platform) on a couple boards. A year or so later, Magpul introduced their Masada which has some very striking, almost too similar to be coincidental similarities to my design. Luckily, it's similarities are more then 90% aesthetic. I had learned by that time not to show any mechanical secrets. Don't just suggest cool ideas with these guys. Watch your back as well.

Steph Hayden (Sons of Guns) Like You've Never Seen Her Before!
MaDuce replied to Retired JM's topic in General Discussion
FPS Russia is thilly and yes, very entertaining. Sons of Guns is there because those folks are goof balls. That's what sells. I am with Mr. Robobot that I have yet to see anything particularly unique from them. -
AT LONG LAST I finally got the trigger working today!! ATM it's not working very well though. It's a very crisp trigger but the housing isn't very good and function is unreliable. I'll probably have to spend the greater part of tomorrow straightening it all out. This was suppose to be a one day thing. Turned in to a 3 day, but it's almost over. We may still have live fire testing by this week end.

I've never fired one but never heard anything good about the Sig P-230s. I fired a 220 and it jammed allot. Then again, we were firing Wolf ammo through it. 226 shot reliable but felt awkward. 228 and pro series seam to be the answer to that. I myself am trying to decide between a Sig Pro and Beretta PX-4 for a 9mm plinking gun. I love the Sig Pro's trigger but I've heard great things about the PX-4's reliability. Balance between the two is very close and hard to decide between.

Last time I was at TDS they had some high-end .308 AR that had a side-charging handle. I don't remember which brand but I know it wasn't Fulton, ASA or Mega. Otherwise I'd remember.

I talked with Colfax Tactical about a month ago and they said they were planning to have production started middle of this month and be ready to start shipping some time around now, which in my way of thinking, translates in to middle of next month or so. I've purchased one of their receivers before and regularly shop at a store that these guys do business with. The reason you are not hearing from them on the board is because they're busy. I've seen stuff like this get started up before and I said before that I'd be surprised if it didn't take this long or longer to get the ball rolling. These things take time. Just hang in there.

Magpul 2012 - Coming Soon [I am a Magpul Faboy Edition]
MaDuce replied to a topic in General Discussion
The shotgun stock looks like handling is going to be as bad as it is ugly. The AR accessories look good though. -
Found some C&R handgun frames for $25 each. I use these things for scratch building, since scratch building handguns is banned in California but modification isn't. In other words, I buy them just for the serial numbers on the frame. Better yet, most of the frames are CZ-52 and Tokarev frames, a very good starting platform for making the sort of handguns I specialize in, namely 10mm and magnums. I've been wanting to do a .22 Magnum and a 10mm. The .22 Magnum is 100% personal build and contains no innovations that the Sova doesn't share. The 10mm however is aimed at making a 10mm handgun with the torso and recoil of a 9mm. I intend to use a Ruger P-94 upper for the build. Both should be similar in terms of challenge. The .22 Magnum will cost 1/3 as much as the 10mm but the 10mm will have some crucial innovations. Which do you think I should do first?

.30-06 is based on the assumption that it's not the "mainstay" round. Scavenging dead bodies for .308 may be easier early on but it seams to me stuff like .30-06 will probably be easier to come by in the long run. Personally, I don't see much difference. If there's a national collapse, there will probably be a big blow-out at the beginning but when things simmer down this country will more then likely go back to the way the west was in the 1800s. I think conditions like Somalia and "Fallout" is going to be a stretch. There was probably less murder per capita in the old west then there is now. Dodge city for instance, the name to fame for wild west shoot-outs and killings I think averaged something like 1.5 murders per year, and that's with a huge portion of the surrounding population moving through it constantly. If given the opportunity, people will live mundane lives. I can't agree more with this. Sound advice. Again, sound advice. I think I read somewhere that the US Army 5.56 has a better record for stopping people then the 7.62. My experience in self-defense has been that ease of shot placement under stress is more critical then what caliber you use. The S&W 500 has at least 1/3 more recoil then the .50AE and more then double in some cases, but even without the concerns of jamming, I'd use the S&W 500 over the .50AE Desert Eagle simply because the S&W 500s straight and clean recoil makes it allot easier to hit with then the Desert Eagle's rough and crunchy recoil. I've never fired the S&W MP but my friend has one and hates it. I was thinking along the line of PWS, Addax Tactical and Daniel Defense. My Addax ZK has about $1700 in to it and would have cost over $2000 had I paid full retail for everything. You can get two LR-308s for that! If I recall correctly, PWS and Daniel Defense are almost or just as expensive. Fortunately, at least with my experience of Addax, it's well worth the price.

One of my best (female) friends is Ukrainian and the inspiration for this article. She's one of my best lady friends for a reason but she also beat the tar out of one of her uncles employees after he assaulted her uncle. And that's no joke or exaggeration. I've never been on her bad side and hopefully never will be.
