  1. I'd like a few of the od/tan stickers and maybe a shirt or two. Jon
  2. Baaahhh! They're both very pro-U.N., so it cancels any hyperbole they may spew about gun rights. Jon

What he said ^^^^^^!! That rifle is a she...and she smashed your thumb to let you know how it will be: give her the respect and she'll be putty in your hands! Funny...doesn't look like there is a thumb pic up there. Jon
  4. That folder attachment is whispering my name...Do they fit the .308s? Jon
  5. And for that matter, get a set of TechSights for your .22 while you're there. The difference is night and day. Jon
  6. +1 I.E., not a rapid-adjustable sling. Take a look at the Appleseed website, see what they recommend. TechSights sells both cotton and nylon slings that work ideally for what is being done at Appleseed. Jon
  7. Yup. Fairly steady increase in helicopter traffic especially. And Germans have been training nearby also...pretty cool helos. Jon
  8. There was a video on youtube on how to do an adjustable paracord rifle sling. I can't find it anymore. Jon

<laughs> <lmao> You'll remember that for weeks to come. Congrats bro! Jon
  10. http://news.yahoo.com/arizona-police-officer-gives-bike-teen-walks-9-160635006--abc-news-topstories.html Kid deserves to be rewarded with that kind of work ethic! Jon

One good thing about Garands...someone has figured out everything about them because they've been around so long. Find some old shooters at the range with a Garand or three, and start picking their brains. Jon
  12. My EO shoots the CBC just fine...not sure why so many others have issues with it. Jon
  13. I have a friend that did that with his AR10 bull barrel. Took him a few months, in part because Armalite recommended moly-coated bullets, which he had trouble finding. But he is hell happy with the rifle! Jon
  14. First arrested landing: Jon
  15. It can be intimidating taking those steps into that darkened doorway. Then, once your eyes adjust to the other side you say "This is dang awesome! Why didn't I do this sooner?!" Best wishes bro! Jon
  16. Welcome from Arizona, Pretext! Jon

IIRC bro you can't join the CMP directly, rather you have to join a club or organization that is affiliated with CMP. Revolutionary War Veterans Association/Appleseed membership will get you one of those. Jon
  18. Another D'oh! Jon

Actually, if you're in a CMP affiliated club, their .30-06 ammo is pretty cheap. We got some from SAFE via CMP, like $110/200 rounds. Jon
  20. Someone did a side-by-side test of brass vs. steel cases, on identical ARs. The steel did in fact wear parts faster but they were going mag after mag, and didn't get the first broken part until around 10,000 rounds I believe. Jon
  21. You'll still be happy when you get it! Jon

150gr up to 168gr, so long as they are the Match loads. Avoid any hyped hunting loads, like "Extended Range" or "Light Magnum" stuff. Jon
  23. I'm not so sure about that CBC ammo. A friend measured the fired cases he has, and they were 2.022"...a mere 0.007" OVER max cartridge length. That would be one heck of a stretch for the first firing. Measure your unfired cases, see how they measure. Jon
  24. Looks like I over-broke mine in then Rene. :auto: Jon
