  1. Never had holders, but have had a few sets of roll pin punches over the years. Odd how mine keep disappearing... Jon
  2. Buy mmeeeeee!! http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=291222932 What's weird is I heard this .338 Lapua calling Tom! Jon
  3. Yup. To humanely drop a mulie, what survivalshop said. Even in the cold weather here out west, repeated up and down canyons, with rifle, gear, ammo is a challenge. An extra few pounds of rifle does make a difference. Now...if you're like me and lose several extra pounds of me, a few extra pounds of rifle doesn't matter. <laughs> Jon
  4. That's a good tool for my screwed up roll pins! <thumbsup> Jon
  5. Excellent MikedaddyH! Jon
  6. Sixteen student packets, a BIG knife, and a kit to moly coat boolits. To go with all the casting equipment I bought while I was offline. Jon
  7. Welcome LittleBird! What Robocop said. I'll add that, since you said petite, even a smaller large-caliber AR weigh in at 8#s and up. That's a lot to haul up and down the canyons and mountains when pursuing mulies. But people do it anyway! <thumbsup> Jon
  8. :wwop: Especially if it is zombie nudity! Jon
  9. I contacted RRA about a spares kit a year ago and have yet to hear anything. Just wanted to know what they recommended, if it was the same as their AR15 spares kit (but with .308 parts). Jon
  10. Well mrraley, I'm looking for a Victory to be my next cycle...American Made, oogles more value for the dollar IMO than anything else out there. How do you like yours? Jon
  11. Lots of people that should know there is a difference don't. Once you get them side-by-side you can see people's light-bulbs go on. Jon
  12. We certainly can, brother unforgiven! Especially in weapons manufacturing. <thumbsup> Jon
  13. Yup...Benson & Hedges and Jim Beam as a teen. Younger than that, my buddy found the Penthouse stash of the teen that lived across the alley from him. lol That guy must have thought his mom found his stash 'cause it was GONE. Remember these aren't kids though...these carnibals (new word alert! carniverous cannibals) all seem to be adults with less than normal ambitions. I think the next class I teach, instead of saying "Threat!" as the command to shoot, I'll slur out "Brraains!" :bat: Jon
  14. Ruger is a special case, taking on a challenge to sell one MILLION (pinky to mouth) firearms in a one year period, in cooperation with the NRA. Not only were Ruger and the NRA advertising the push but almost every nonassociated website and magazine within the shooting community. Ruger reached the half million mark WELL ahead of their goal, blowing through the million mark too. Last number I saw was something like 1.3 million SOLD! As those who've worked in manufacturing know, overtime is AWESOME...for the first 4 weeks or so. By week 12 you're ready to plant a magnetic tool base into your coworkers face. Mind you too, Ruger is trying to fill current back orders...on top of their regular production. I wouldn't mind seeing a Lipsey's .357/9mm convertible Blackhawk Flat Top. Jon
  15. Epsom salts are magnesium sulfate, and are used as a laxative and for topical skin treatments. Scented beads are for irritating allergies and gathering dust. Bath salts is a generic term for various amphetemine compositions that are being smoked by people to get high. Once outlawed, the manufacturers slightly alter the recipe and it is still sold as "bath salts" (U.S. drug laws require that the exact chemical composition be identified, so as not to confuse it with legal chemicals...er, drugs...being sold as prescriptions). I think bath salts is the cover. Flippin' zombies! :leghump: :bat: :auto: :laughing4: Jon
  16. Don't know about NC. What AZ's used to be (for 8 hours) was a minimal review of firearms function and safety, a brief qualification, and 5-6 hours of AZ and Federal firearms law. Under the new law it is ANY military service (other than that resulting in a dishonorable discharge), law enforcement firearms instruction, or NRA firearms safety class. Jon
  17. Now let's get back to business: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=290398503 Took long enough after the announcement to get to market! I believe I'm still going to wait for them to lengthen the XD-S a bit in both directions, 2 or 3 more rounds in the magazine, 3/4" on the barrel Jon
  18. What they ^^^ said, hollywood. With most "plinking" handgun loads, I have piles of mixed brass, all with starting loads or a pinch higher than that. Never close to maximum. For serious loads, every case is identical, same brand, worked up to satifactory levels of THUMP for the intended purpose. Lil'Gun in .357 Magnum and .45 Colt is the cat's mee-ooowwww! Jon
  19. So far the heaviest were some Federal 180gr JSPs out of the Freedom Machine, which the rifle liked more than the lighter 147gr FMJs. I've found some reference to heavier pills out of .308 and claims that pressures were within limits. Nothing yet about over pressure rounds. Something about the heavies...and bigger holes too. A friend of mine was experimenting a few years ago with .45acp and 300gr bullets. Said he found a couple of ideal powder loads and he would dig them up for me to try. We'll see what they look like first. Jon
  20. Me too mantawolf! I saw elsewhere on 308AR that the DI system is much more forgiving to force than an op-rod gas system, ala M14/M1A. Load data for those rifles was so very specific it didn't seem worth while to experiment. Lacking a .358 Winchester upper for launching husky heavies, this is the more affordable route to play with. For now. Until I plop down for the .358 upper. It never stops... Jon
  21. Nobody? Looking at some of the reviews online, some people claim to have used them with good results in 308AR type rifles. <ssiiiiiiggghhhhh> This looks like a job for Planeflyer21 and the Rock River Twins, Liberty and Freedom Machine! "Wonder twin powers...ACTIVATE! Form of a carbine!" "Form of a rifle!" Looks like we need to get our hands on those pills! Jon
  22. I used to be able to bump-fire my M1A easily enough...not so easy on the pocket book. Won't even try with a 308AR. The Feds have a fickle relationship with devices like this...approved, DISapproved, wait...approved, wait...you're GOIN' to JAIL! Jon
  23. I eat and prepare so much hot stuff, that if pepper juice makes it into my eyes/nose/onto peepee, I'm lucky if my eyelid twitches. My favorite right now is the Asian concoction that consists entirely of crushed chiles and garlic...seeds and all. Wifey got a BIG jar of it, gone, got another, gone, got two, gone. "Where is that big jar of that stuff I bought?" "I ate it." "How long did it take you?" "About 8 or 9 days." So what does she do? She starts looking for the jar I just told her is gone. Almost have her broke in (after 9 years) that no matter HOW many jars of salsa, hot sauce, peppers, and of what type are sitting in the pantry/fridge, we need more when you go shopping...just grab SOMETHING (but not that poser nasty Buffalo brand again). What were we talking about? :threadjack: Jon
  24. <munch> Jon
  25. The Nikons are great for the buck! Hhmmm...looks like I should've written "tear" or "leer". Oh well. Jon
