Well, I took out my Bushy again and let her rip. Another 100 rounds downrange without any issues. Went bang everytime. That makes it flawless since new. In all, I have approximatley 600 rounds now down the pipe. All rouinds ejected at 3-4 o'clock. I had fitted a Redfield Revolution 2-7x32 scope from another rifle. 1st group shot with new scope is on paper, 2nd group I moved shots left 1/2 way to bulls eye, 3 rd group, well you can see. The final 7-8 shots started to shoot to 3-4 o'clock and down, then 6 o'clock. Looked like something came loose. Sure enough, my riser mount came loose... By then the range was getting crowded so I tightned up the scope mount and packed up and left. I really like this rifle! Conditions were: wind 10-15 mph from 3 o'clock. temp: mid 70's range: 100 yards Bench top, sand bags

NEW: California Compliant ArmaLite Rifle
mariodesmo replied to ArmaLite's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
Wow, that's awesome, is it available in 308/7.62MM??? We need all the new guns we can get, while we still can! Yea, wives are already crying. Good thing I don't have one of those... <lmao> -
Here in Silicon Valley, we had snow on the local foothills a few days ago and it's been cold! The foothills are only at 2000 feet so to see snow there is uncommon. We usually don't get snow there even during the coldest months of December or January. And never this late. It is very unusual to have cold winter storms coming in as they have, since it's so late in the winter. But then we've also had a very dry winter this year.

I've had my safe in the closet and in the garage. If you have it in a house with a crawl space under your floors, be sure to reinforce the floor under the safe. I put a concrete block in the ground with a 4x4 post up to the subfloor, with a plywood panel under the subfloor, for added strength. My safe weighs in at around 900 lbs... <thumbsup>

I have a Bushy MOE and am very please with it. I've shot about 300 rounds so far completely flawless, and accurate out of the box. It was also very affordable and nicely put together. If you do get a Bushy/DPMS, run it really wet when first starting out. Good Luck!

Yea, the older I get the more that happens to me too... ::)

Yea, a few of us are on here... <thumbsup>

Jeez, we should have a family reunion! <lmao> I'm just south of SF on the peninsula. Make no mistake all you living in free America, there are a LOT of people here armed to the teeth. You should see our local shooting ranges on the weekend, impressive showing of young kids, moms, daughters, gun enthusiasts, all sorts... Long hairs, short hairs, no hairs! <thumbsup>

The typical pressure of a 308 is higher than a 7.62 round but not enough to cause damage on a modern 7.62 gun. I've shot 308 and 7.62 in mine. I also have the MOE Bushy and it's done fine. I've shot Winchester white box 7.62, FGMM 308, Privi 308, and heaven forbid, Wolf 308. The Wolf actually shot really well, nice tight groups. Here is what the barrel shows...

My New DPMS .308 AP4 Carbine
mariodesmo replied to billt's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
I picked up the sister rifle to your DPMS, the Busmaster LR-308 MOE and got the exact same results. In fact, I'm 59 years old as well. I posted my pics and results elsewhere on this board. These are some really nice shooting rifles for the money. They seem to be well made and shoot accurately, much better than my M1A Socom 16 did out of the box. It was actually terrible until I accurized it. Anyway, good luck with your DPMS. These are good shooting rifles IMHO. <thumbsup> -
Yea, you can attach a rail to the bottom then secure your bi pod mount to the rail.

I'd like this one, please... Thanks!

What made you decide to move to the 308 AR/AR-10 Platform?
mariodesmo replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
All of the above, plus it just looks right. It looks like a serious caliber and its performance proves it. I love the low recoil, down range ballistics, and mostly not overly expensive to shoot! <thumbsup> -

I picked up my MOE 308 earlier this week and took her out today for some fun. I oiled up the carrier/bolt with Mobil 1, nothing else. Shot her just as she came out of the box. The groups are from one magazine, 10 rounds total. 100 yards, bench, sunny day... Total for the day; 100 rounds down range, not one issue. Pulled the trigger 100 times, went bang 100 times... <thumbsup> First three shots The second group 7 shots. Thanks for the feedback, men. Yes, it does say Windham, ME on the receiver. The distributor/dealer converted in into Calif legal. Here's a better pic

Well, been lurking here a month or two, reading all about 308's, and I started thinking I would build me a 308. Was leaning towards a Aero Precision lower with Armalite upper. Then... But then I saw Bushy's MOE model and I really like the way it's spec'd out. It's exactly what I had in mind, and it comes with a warranty; So knowing Bushy's reputation, I decided to take a chance and well, here she is below! Just picked her up tonight after completing California's 10 day jail term. I'm very satisfied with the build quality from what I can see. I have other AR's including what I consider real go-to-war guns, so I have a reference from which to compare. We'll see how this does to start, at the range next weekend. Then in a few weeks, off we go to the desert camping, and give her a good work out... <laughs> •.308 Win./7.62 NATO16” Hvy Profile Chrome lined Barrel and Chamber •Receiver Length Picatinny Optics Rail with Magpul MBUS Rear Flip Sight •Magpul MOE Polymer Mid-Length Hand Guard Accepts MOE Rail Inserts •Magpul MOE Adjustable Buttstock •Magpul MOE Pistol Grip Accepts MIAD Storage Cores •MOE enhanced trigger guards •Magpul MOE Vertical Grip •One Year Bushmaster Warranty

You Asked, Armalite Delivered - AR-10 and PMAGS
mariodesmo replied to imschur's topic in AR-10 General, Technical Discussion
It's a good thing you can never have too many of these things. I just bought a Bushy MOE two days ago... Now I have to figure if these can be made legal for Kahlifornia. <thumbsup> -
Just a thought, but has anyone simply tried pinching the gas tube (some) to reduce the over gassing problem?
