  1. We have a LOT of sand here but the only thing quick about it is when we have sandstorms! <dontknow> BTW, a little known fact why we have sandstorms here in New Mexico is because Texas sucks and Arizona blows! <lmao>
  2. That is normal. If you assemble the pistol without the grip safety you can actually pull the hammer clear down between the tangs of the frame. As for what is keeping your slide from coming all the way back, that is a puzzler. I don't think I've run across that before. If the hammer is cocking okay and not causing it then I would take a close look at the ejector. The only other thing that I can think of that might cause that is if your using the stock type recoil spring guide (the short type) and it's somehow catching on the slide.
  3. HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bat: :thefinger: <lmao>
  4. Nice! <thumbsup>
  5. That Armalite is a killer deal! If I could afford it right now I would be all over that!
  6. Easy mistake to make brother, it's a learning process. <thumbsup>
  7. Yup, that's how I do them too! <thumbsup>
  8. The pin for the hammer strut should not be a roll pin! That pin is a solid pin and is a slip fit in the hammer, some 'smiths stake the sides of the hammer to keep the pin from falling out when the hammer is out of the frame. If you are using a roll pin that is probably your problem.
  9. I've done that too! <thumbsup>
  10. ROFLMAO! I've snuck parts from the mailbox many times brother!
  11. Pretty much what I posted a month ago.
  12. Foster is one of those companies that makes receivers for other companies, most notably Caspian Arms. The ones Foster sell are usually blems but the blem is usually extremely hard to find. Foster's receivers are some of the best deals around.
  13. We need a LOT more Americans like her! Her reasoning makes sense and I agree with her 100%! This is the kind of attitude it's going to take to keep the moose limbs from overrunning this country. <thumbsup>
  14. Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Nah, she's Cuban. When they set their minds to something there just ain't no 'splainin Lucy! <lmao>
  16. Nice work so far! You did the slide to frame fit just right, lots of patience! <thumbsup>
  17. You got it brother. Thanks! <thumbsup>
  18. Yeah, and Wideners has AR-15 uppers and lowers from Anderson for just a little over $40 each but the wife has shut me down on buying any parts for a while! DAMMIT! :'(
  19. Hey Tom, after the first of the year I'm going to get the slide on Josh's STI 2011 engraved and then I need to get all the metal done in black. You interested in doing that?
  20. I have absolutely no experience with a piston setup on any AR platform rifle, but 4227 is all I've used in my gas 300 BLK. Can't find anything else in my area to try right now. I haven't loaded any 125 grn. bullets either, but I've loaded about 200 110 grn. bullets with 19 grns. of 4227 and they cycle fine in my 10.3" bbl. with the pistol gas system and my son's 10.5" bbl with pistol gas length. The 19 grn. load is a compressed load and the Sierra load table shows a max of 20.9 grns. for 4227 but it's beyond me how you could even get that much powder in a 300 BLK case! Sierra shows a minimum of 16.2 grns and max of 18.7 grns. of 4227 for the 125 grn. bullets. Don't know if this helps, but it's all I have.
  21. WOW! How did you determine this was the section to post this question? We do have a reloading section and this would probably get more response in there.
  22. <thumbsup>
  23. Oh, I had the roll pin..............................................I just forgot to put it in!
  24. Well I finally got my 300 BLK pistol up and running. It's working pretty good now that the roll pin is in the gas block and the gas tube stays where it's supposed to! :auto:
  25. I think that's my roll pin Shepp! I took my 300 BLK pistol to the range yesterday to try it out and it worked great...................................................for the first shot! After that it was a single shot! I forgot to put the damn roll pin for the gas tube in the gas block! :-[ <lmao>
