  1. Love that Troy rail. I got that on one of mine. Extremely light, yet strong. The masking on the rail numbers must have taken quite some patience.
  2. Definitely interested in prices. Count me in. Thanks.
  3. Ahhh...just as in racing...the lighter and stronger the components...the more they cost. Sounds like a very interesting build.
  4. Eh...unfortunately, the range that I belong to is only 100 yards at this time. We're trying to get the club to open up the 200 yard range. Some legal, mumbo jumbo, too smart for me, type of issue between the club, county and state. The county that I'm in (Prince George's...ie part hood) is right outside our beloved nations capital. So we take what we can get. I've heard of a 500 yard+ range out at Ft. Meade...but I haven't checked into civilian use yet. Either way...the SASS is still fun with the can on it...even if it is just 100 yards.
  5. I know, I know. I titled it pics...not pic. I'm kinda stupid that way some times. Anyway, heres a couple of 16" carbines. The A2 is pretty much a stock Armalite A2. AAC blackout brake Harris bipod Alostyr 2 piece rail from Armalite (lazy mans rail system) Houge grip Troy front grip Since this pic, I've added a JP adjustable gas sight post (to make it suppressor friendly). The A4 was my first attempt at building an upper assembly. Armalite Stripped A4 upper Armalite BCG Armalite 16" barrel Standard charging handle (soon to be PRI gas buster) Troy TRX rail Troy BUIS Troy front grip PRI lo-pro gas block (soon to be an adjustable one) Standard flash-hider (soon to be another AAC brake....for the can)
  6. I'm kinda fond of this one. Armalite SASS upper Armalite lower AAC blackout brake AAC 762-SD Harris BR-S bipod Magpul UBR Hogue grip Nightforce NXS 3x15x50
  7. Yep. Knew that. Just kiddin around myself.
  8. Hey...you gotta be comfortable with yourself in this world. Last time I checked...a pink gun still goes bang right?
  9. Hey, whoa, hey, slow down, pump the brakes. No calling out was being done here. Simply asking a fellow gunner's approval. Ha! Drive to my state? I didn't know anybody else knew where the state of confusion was.
  10. Sorry...meant "unforgiven" on the approval thing. But who doesn't love a good SBR now and again?
  11. About as big as a grin that you can have without going to full auto. So I take it that means that you approve Edge? ha! It's a sickness. I'm kinda going thru a SBR phase. DSA OSW....POF P-308 PDW...and the Leonidas. LIke I said, it's a sickness. And the ATF must be gettin to love my sorry ass by now. Between cans and SBR's, they must be loving me...at 200 a pop that is.
  12. My thoughts exactly. That's why I'm in the process of getting one of my lowers registered with "THE MAN" as an SBR. Once that's done....leonidas barrel...low-profile adjustable gas block...12" handguard so the AAC brake will hang just barely out of the end of it...and the suppressor on the end of it. How could that not be interpreted as a good time?
  13. You'll get past that eventually. As with anything in the 308 world, Ya gotta pay to play.....and space purchases out. Hell...just the barrels for those things are 500 bucks. But who doesn't like a little 308 fire breathing monster?
  14. I use one of the heavy buffers that I got from slash for one of my Armalite carbines. It functions great. Reduced recoil (not that it was an issue). Between that and the JP adjustable gas block, the carbine runs great with the AAC suppressor. Ron
  15. Noveske equipment will interchange with Armalite upper/lowers and vice versa. Technically, Noveske calls thier AR the N6. And, they make some pretty nice stuff......of course I'm kinda biased....I've been drooling over the 12" Leonidas upper assembly for one of my Armalite lowers (I'm also a big Armalite fan). Pretty much, it's the two different platforms representing 7.62 (308) in the AR world. Armalite and Noveske.....and then all the others....LWRC, POF, DPMS, KAC, blah, blah, blah (I think everybody gets it). Welcome aboard Doc. Ron
  16. Yeah, just reading about all the different builds that guys do made me decide to give it a try myself. Nothing out of the ordinary. Armalite AR-10A4 upper Armalite BCG Armalite 16" barrel PRI lo-profile block Troy HG Came out well and goes bang like it's supposed to. Already looking forward to the next build.
  17. Hey there guys. I've been reading the stuff here for the last couple months. Finally got around to registering. Alot of good info floating around here. Seems like a damn good knowledge base.
