And that alone, should remind all of us to stay on top of our equipment. Just more proof that "poop happens" even when it's beyond our control. We can build it....shoot it....clean it....repair it. But any of us can look right at something and maybe not see it. No exception. None of us. When it's a mechanical failure, it's totally out of your hands. I agree with Robo. We all will have AD's. How can you not like Abbott and Costello? I'm in my mid-forties and I remember laughing my ass off to them as a kid. Hell.....they can still make me laugh today. But, then again.....so can looney toons.....tom and jerry.....etc. Ok, I thought I was in my forties.....apparently I'm still a little kid in my head. Anytime you're running the suppressor, make sure that the carrier is lubed up well. These beast's like the carrier's pretty "wet" without the suppressors. I usually run a good light film of high temperature bearing grease on mine (plus a little on the lugs.....not too much though) when I'm planning to run suppressed. Different guys have different views on the grease on the lugs. I'm only speaking on what works well on mine (Armalite's). As with the gas.....even using hot loads, I find it always good to start it out tuned down low, and slowly work it up until the bolt holds open on the last round. I run adjustable blocks on just about all of mine and don't seem to have any issues. Now, with all of this said, I haven't tried using the LMOS carriers yet so I can't really have an honest opinion about them. I do know that others on the board use/or have used them, and are much more qualified to comment on them. In short, trial and error is always a good solid form of testing to see how your rifle likes to run. Ron

I'm sold on Clint's heavy buffers. Especially when running suppressed, or just because........they make a rifle run better. I WILL be getting one for my AR-10 SBR build. Wouldn't ever consider not using one. Ron

Well, I can't say that it's "proper".....I'm just sayin what works for me (as far as lubing up the lugs along with everything else). Lube never hurts. Definitely keep the carrier itself "wet". Ron

Yep. I use Hi-Temp bearing grease when I'm running my suppressor. It does tend to collect grime easier, but it runs smooth with the extra back-pressure and heat from the gas (also using an adjustable gas-block). Now if I don't plan to run the can, I just lube the living hell out of the bolt carrier and lugs (short of dunking it). grin Ron

It kills me that Advanced Armament is on that list. Even more how they treated the owner after absorbing them. I think that they make some of the best suppressors on the market. With that being said, I just received another of thier blackout QD muzzle brakes. They've re-designed them slightly, and I don't think that it's for engineering advancements. They've thinned out the walls around the ports, and moved the wrench-flats to the other side of the QD threads. I can't imagine that they're saving a whole lot of $ per unit. But you know how large corporations think. Don't know if this will inherently weaken the brake or not, only time (and rounds) will tell. Ron
