Matt put it right earlier. This IS gonna get ugly. But the speed at which it is gaining pace is mind-numbing. Shocker that Armalite is limiting thier mag sales....and pmags (308) seem to be "sold-out" damn near everywhere. I think that we're looking at some dark times ahead of us here fella's. The powers that be have been waiting for something like this, just so that they could push for another assault weapons ban. And for that matter......who knows where they'll stop? I know all about the not being cheap part my brother. I believe that nothing from Noveske is cheap. But......the words quality and cheap never go together in this world. I also thought that they (Noveske) were stepping back from the 7.62 market for a while to focus on other projects. Though they did say in a email to me a while back, that they were probably gonna be re-entering the 7.62 market sometime next year. Either way. I like thier stuff.

This makes sense. I'm not surprised that they've been swamped. And I can't say that I blame them for limiting individual sales to make sure that they have enough for currrent production rifles. But, that being said.........I've been buying the 5-packs of mags, on and off, for the last couple of years. And times like these is why I'm glad that I did.

So where did you find the Noveske 16" barrel with the switchblock? Just curious, because I like the 1 Noveske barrel that I have already (12" Leonidas barrel). And I would definitely consider them for my next carbine style build. Especially with the switchblock supplied with it for cans. Ron

Not really surprised. We all kinda knew that this typical, knee-jerk reaction would come flowing out of our government after Friday. All we can do is, like you say, get on the phones to our elected officials and kindly remind them that not all of us mentally disturbed / sick and twisted / emotionally unstable / fucked in the head......insert descsription of sicko here. The sad truth is that you're right Edge. The anti-gunners will be jumping all over this, as we all already knew that they would. Bought myself a Sig P220 Elite Dark with a factory threaded barrel for Christmas. Something else for my Ti-rant to fit on. Should be here next week. Still waiting on the POF P308 w/12" barrel that I ordered last frickin Christmas. Dealer wasn't kidding when he said that it might take a while. Still waiting on the ACOG TA-11E that I ordered from him back in October. Oh........and 2 more Armalite 10B lowers. And as always..........ammo.

I agree with Edge. Plenty of cheap enough (relatively <laughs>) brass ammo out there. Leave the steel for the russian rifles. They don't seem to care. Though.......in full disclosure.....I put a couple thousand rounds of steel-cased wolf through one of my armalite AR-10 carbine's. It never had a problem, and never burped while eating it up. Since then though...........nothing but brass......even cheap brass. As far as the O-ring? Probably a matter of opinions. Armalite uses the O-ring, and I've put thousands of rounds thru (once again) one of my carbine's.

And that alone, should remind all of us to stay on top of our equipment. Just more proof that "poop happens" even when it's beyond our control. We can build it....shoot it....clean it....repair it. But any of us can look right at something and maybe not see it. No exception. None of us. When it's a mechanical failure, it's totally out of your hands. I agree with Robo. We all will have AD's. imschur hit it right on the head my man. It's just election year blues. Parts and ammo sem to get scarce and expensive. All you can do is keep a sharp eye out as either become available. Unfortunately, we don't make the rules........we just have to live by them.
