  1. Two boxes of Federal Gold 168 gr. boat tail, hollow point from Cabelas - shipped finally. Only ordered it December 2012. It's gotta be a record. Funny thing, few days ago I saw it on their website and had to send them and email to remind them of my order. I like Cabelas but it's still terrible service.
  2. I thought the title was dissin us tuna cans. Still a fun read.
  3. Ammo from Cabela's, back ordered from December. Maybe this month... :'(
  4. Thank you, imshur! Cedar Falls Tactical in Park Hills, Missouri. They have really good customer service. Installed a new trigger and gas block for my DPMS, charging very little for the install. When I was having extraction issues they polished my receiver, checked the extraction springs, and opened up the barrel gas port. No charge! These guys are my first "go to" gun shop / armorer since moving here 14 years ago. If you are in the area and need any work done, ask for Ben. He really helped me out.
  5. One like added, yay.
  6. That's nuts. Just picked some up at Cabelas for $9 two weeks ago.
  7. Wow! You guys must have gotten the last ones. Cabala's show sold out. Bass pro had some pmags, gone. Fulton armory want a cool 50 bones. Ya gotta want it bad.
  8. The gunsmith should be able to figure it out, I'll see what he has to say. The yhm-9836 is a two part assembly, so the flash hider won't be in the way to put it on. Thanks for the link. Gonna print it out.
  9. There are a few articles (AR15.com and others) that state it is either welded on direct, or pinned on and welded over. I see no pins and nobody has a definitive answer. Either way doesn't matter, really. I don't want it anymore and a new one will be put on. If a gunsmith can remove the front sight without making a mess, I'll be happy.
  10. I've knocked back a couple, so keeping this on target is a challenge. I have a DPMS LAR 308 AP4 (fornicate Feinstien) with the A2 carry handle. The sights suck and decided to replace them with some flip ups at a later date. Taking the rear sight / carry handle off is no sweat. Two screws, you're done. Picatinny rail is there and ready to go. Replacing the front sight / gas block will be a yhm 9836a railed gas block for a .750" barrel. After researching, it seems the front sight will need to be cut off since the flash hider is not conducive to removal. So is this plug and play? I plan on having a local gunsmith do the front sight removal and since he's there, put on the new railed gas block. Do I need anything else (besides buis) to make this go? Gotta be a little anal on this. My first computer was a simple thing...until you buy your own parts local. Then the little things started getting a little weird. Thanks for any help.
  11. Nice (br)ass!
  12. The obvious problem area. Who the hell let that POS statement into the amendment? Sounds like they wanted a way to backdoor gunowners.
  13. Just like cop bait cars, they only attract the bad apples.
  14. Lol. Better than reading the funny papers in the morning. Thanks guys!
  15. I agree with you Big Bore. When looking up parts on DPMS website, if it clearly states ".308" in the name of the part, I made it a point find a replacement with the same naming convention. IE. No .223 parts. It may be a bit limiting, but until I am satisfied with my level of knowledge on the subject, sticking with what you know will work isn't a bad idea.
  16. Thanks for the help Robo. SI-Defence seem to be pretty scarce these days and when you mentioned pricey, I thought OK so they're $25 or so. But $78 for a bolt catch? I agree, stainless is sexy. That kind of money for a bolt catch should include a happy ending. Glad I couldn't find one, probably would have gotten it.
  17. Well, I've tried researching Brownells and the forums but not having much luck. I want to find a better bolt catch for a DPMS LR 308 AP4. The one on there is a bit pointy for my delicate fingers. Something like this would be nice, but this one seems to be for a 15 http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=5565/Product/AR-15-TACTICAL-BOLT-RELEASE It has a nice fat release button. I don't need an ambidextrous or extended, just bigger. Thanks for any help.

    Hiya

Just a hello. Bought a DPMS LR-308 AP4 and judging by the information on this site, that was just the beginning of my problems. Can't wait to sink another grand into the little beast. My wife is gonna kill me, but it should be fun!
