  1. Sorry about the milk duds, I meant skittles. I don't do candy much or wear hoodies at night :-).
  2. You guys get money back?
  3. Beats a box of milk duds!
  4. Anyone else weep over the destruction of perfectly good ammo. You were wondering about why there is an ammo shortage, Probably won't help if there are many of these demos going on.

I got into some magnum airguns a while back. Not the red rider type but scuba tank powered and nitro piston springers that will take a small hog down. Even had a Dragon slayer 50 cal and a 9mm HPA powered pellet rifles. There is no shortage of 177-22-25 caliber pellets. There are even some semi auto and full auto models out there. Many have some sort of fixed can on them to quiet them down. They are priced from reasonable to out of sight I coulda bought a real gun for that. Just another option to keep in practice, maybe in your backyard if allowed or basement.
  6. I'm in RI and feel for you CT guys and the Ma guys. I'm right in the middle waiting for the shoe to drop.
  7. I had bought a used scope with snap up lens caps and on the inside of the rear cap was all the dope written in white fine point marker. Isn't a smart phone more up to date way to do it?
  8. + 1 on Buds and the MP10. Too many outstanding reviews on the MP10.
  9. Wow lots of Ideas, on the Savage Axis isn't that the one without the acuetrigger. Like the fact that the ruger has a nice adjustable trigger. Lots of support for the Rem 700. I had one years ago that I bought used. Sold it to pay for divorce lawyer fees. I never bought another due to all the bad press the 700 received on accidental discharges due to an inexpensive replacement part that Remington refused to change. Some of them fired when the safety was engaged without a pull of the trigger. I lost my faith in that rifle. I know there are tons that work perfectly, it just is always in the back of my head. I have a Mossberg 4x4 marine coat with laminated stock in 30-06. I'm not a wuss but this seems to have a bunch of recoil. Was hard to sight in due to the recoil, was just unpleasant to shoot, maybe a recoil dampener of some sort is in order. I have shot 300 win mag and 12 ga slugs out of my TCR single shot without problem. I don't think the new Remington's are anywhere close in quality to the old 70's Remington 700's. I have a Ruger 77xl with SS bull barrel and heavy Lam stock with bipod, it is a tack driver. The bolt feels like it is on ball bearings and the trigger is awesome. It is very heavy and more of a bench gun than tactical. I found a nice Savage mod 10 that has been tacticalized . Bull barrel, accuetrigger, tac skeleton stock, bipod and scope. LGS and I are $50 apart. He is asking $750 out the door, it is used but in very nice shape wouldn't have to change a thing.
  10. Seem to be some good sub $500 308 bolt actions out there. Anyone put together a nice tactical setup on the cheap? Heard the Ruger American is nice for short money and accurate also. Be nice if some aftermarket stocks found their way to it.
  11. You guys actually have room to put other stuff in your safes......jeeeezzzzz!
  12. MRI is a little too pricey for me for a 10-17 even if it is a magnum round. Have nice Excellerator in 22 mag. So far not a tack driver. Watch out for Winchester 22 LR ammo....Recall in Effect. GD 42L and 52L lots.
  13. You just got to have a few 10-22;s in the safe. None of mine are over $1K, I turned one into a 17 m2, Have an extra 17 aguila barrel I no longer need as the 17M2 will also shoot that. Also have a 22 in that config but no pic of it yet. The next 1022 has an overmolded stock with a ss bull barrel, Has a high powered scope but can't remember if it is 24 or 32 power. I like to try and watch the bullet hit at 200 yards.
  14. I don't want to get into particulars but LGS owner once told me I'd be better off with a gun locker that was hidden than a safe that would get ruined by inept safe crackers. I have both and there is never enough room. One guy I know had a slab poured for an external Shed. He then had riggers move in an old Bank Safe and built his reloading shed around the safe. Must have 40 lever actions in there. Safe has steel walls over a foot thick, can't imagine how much it weighed. I have a vault that most would not ever find. I have a locker that is exposed and have 22 rifles only in that one. Also have a Fire Safe that holds about 30 rifles it is lag bolted into cement floor.
  15. I think I have to get one of these for myself. I have more than a few 308's. May have to get rid of something else to add this. It is much lighter than all of mine except my Rem 742 bdl. Those are lighter but don't shoot as well. I like it better than my FAL and M1A1. M LR308 is a keeper but much heavier and longer. The Ruger 77xl SS bull barrel is probably my most accurate but it is a bench rifle and very heavy but oh so smooth. I hate even thinking about selling a 308. Maybe something else can go.
