  1. Oh heck yea!! I bet that was a good fight!! Those biguns are a blast to catch but when it comes to eating the 20'-24" reds are the best. leave the scales on one side of your filet, butter, lemon pepper ( whatever you like)and throw um on the pit

Yes Merriams, that's what I figured. Those professional taunters over Jon & Toms way are likely Rio Grands.

You'd think that but the population has been steady for many years,I blame those damn coyotes >:D Wow!, very few places down here have those kind of numbers, are those Easterns or one of the sub species?

  5. Wait for it, I can barely restrain myself......
  6. ^^^ I never go offshore because :puke: :puke: :ugone2far: They've extended the state water boundry http://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/revised-louisiana-gulfward-boundary This is not something you see every day,I've been lucky enough to witness it twice. The first time it happened we were surf fishing near Grand Isle,LA. and just after daybreak untold numbers of Pogies (baitfish) began jumping out of the water which we thought was strange but within minutes the gulf turned red as far as we could clearly see and i'd say that was 3/4's of a mile of red boiling water. Those reds herded the pogies to shore and the feeding frenzy lasted around 20 minutes....it can easily take 15 minutes to land a 30"-40" redfish on 12lb.line, between 4 of us we wound up with 2 reds from that school, one guy got "spooled" and my line broke after a long fight. Of course mine would have been the biggest one :D

I retrieved my trail cameras last week which had been out since mid.Jan. I got the typical critters-deer,hogs,rabbits,coyote, coons, armadillo but the turkeys were great...
  8. Oh yea,we try to do that every year also, may & june are usually the best months, around the full moon.....but most importantly try to plan your trip during a week with good tidal movements.
  9. South LA. Redfishing ,check out the video. http://www.sportfishingmag.com/blogs/tightening-drag/raucous-reds to about 6:00min.
  10. Louisiana- "The Sportsman's Paradise" <thumbsup> All bs aside, if you (anyone) ever wanted to take a fishing vacation of a lifetime (inshore or offshore) I would dare to say the best saltwater fishing in the world is in Louisiana. Just be sure to do your research on the charter company.
  11. This is what we have on our computers at work,It blocks all the good sites&%$ I'll see if I can track down our policy tomorrow. Trend Micro™ Worry-Free™ Business Security Services_com
  12. Hell yeah!! I think its total bs if its true but seems like I read somewhere that there's a military code/rule that ssys you're not to wear bdu's when off duty out in public, maybe that was only the USMC?
  13. I'm out in the field today but ill se what I can find out soon. I do know ours blocks anyting classified as weapons(sucks) and FB also.
  14. All the scopes mentioned above are top notch and should preform well for you! Somethings to compare when making your choice 1st is $$ of course, 2nd what is the manfactures warranty? #3rd which one has the reticle you like best? 5th Availibity(you may not be willing to wait months) 6th. Do you want First or second focal plane? and do all on your short list offer the type you want? 7th. Mil Mil or Moa Moa? 8th. lighted reticle? 9th. Internal adjustment, if you want to aventually reach 1000 yards you'll need lots of internal adjustment and possibally a scope mount with a built in 20 moa slant... Another thing is weight, scopes can vairy alot in weight & last but not least- glass clairity, tho all of these should have excellent glass and it may be extreemly dificult to tell which is best.

  19. I'm currently residing in Livingston parish (for work) in my youth from up the river south of Krotz Springs. Commercial fished all over the northern part of the basin in the 80's.
  20. They're several things to factor in when it comes to taking large game, the most important one(imo) is how much energy can your bullet potentially release into the animal. As you can see the .308 has roughly twice the energy of the .223. .308 Win. Energy ft.lbs. Bullet Muzzle 100 200 300 400 500 Remington® Express® 168 2678 2318 1998 1713 1460 1239 .223 Rem. 24. I feel the same way about most of the "petty" laws, but I don't want my children to have to walk down the street looking at these thugs ass cracks :ugone2far:
  25. I love this law, the only thing that would make this story better is if they would have tasered his ass for resisting arrest. http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/watercooler/shreveport-louisiana-man-aaron-woodbury-was-arrested-for-wearing-his-pants-too-low
