  1. I looked at them, too gimmicky for me.
  2. This dude can put the smack down on some hogs, just think what he could do with a 308AR!!
  3. I have been a commercial fisherman, deckhand on tug boats, carpet cleaner/installer, operator in a asphalt plant, electrician. For the past 15 years i've been a project manager for a large electrical contractor. I'm also an IMSA certified level 3 traffic signal Electrician. 4. I've only been to the range twice but so far i'm happy with my Weaver but keep in mind that the best thing I have to compare it to are my Nikon Monarchs. Scope=Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 /30mm tube (Model 800363) Focal plane=1st Reticle= Enhanced Mildot, Glass-etched Illuminated Reticle =red & green,5 power levels Internal adjustment=100" Weight=27.33oz * Eye relief=3.98" Click value= 1/10 Mil Turrets= Tall & lockable Side focus parallax adjustment Zero stop=No * Price=$699.00 + The glass is very clear & crisp , I have yet to take it out at dusk/dawn to check its light gathering abilities. It tracks like a fright train,it goes exactly where you tell it to.I've never owned a scope that tracks correctly before so that really empressed me. It's built very rugged but with that comes weight(27.33oz) my set up is more of a bench/sniper type so it doesn't bother me too much. It's actually a bonus for me because as bad as I shoot I might need to take it off a club um to death <laughs> Due to its weight I wouldn't recommend it for a run & gun SBR. Although I haven't needed it yet the 100" of internal adjustment blows away the competition. The range of the reticle illumination works good from bright sunny days to pitch black. The eye relief is very good (4") and it has the quick focus eye piece. Cons= weight, no zero stop, doesn't come with sun shade. Pros= everything else. For those in the market for scopes in the $700-$1000 price range compare it to the more expensive Vortex PST line. Weaver list this scope for over $1200, if I were going to pay that kind of money I would save a bit more for a Night Force or Super Sniper but the street value is more like $700+ and at that price it's alot of scope for a great deal, I would highly reccomend it. RJM, that's all I have for now, hope it helps. http://www.weaveroptics.com/optics/tactical/

  8. LWRC charges $150 extra for Cerakote Finish and there are price increases from 16,18 & 20" models so all aren't equal, the black rifles are not Cerakote and I've seen the 20" as low as $3200 on GB.This is the largest distributor of LWRC products http://www.northwesttactical.us.com/store/rifles-and-lower-receivers.html?price=4%2C1000 Base model REPR's can also be found for under $3000 http://www.livengoodoutdoors.com/product.php?id_product=6978

  14. The instructor's name is Todd Hodnett and he's impressing the hell out of me! :hail: but there's a section called "cold bore vs clean bore" where he says he doesn't remove copper from his bore, only carbon. He says he has 8000+ rounds through one of his rifles without removing the copper. What's y'alls opinion on this?
  15. Wood alert <laughs> http://www.vikingtactics.com/rifleacc_uvg.html

  17. Yes, check out this CMMG > http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/item/Mk3-18-Stainless-Steel-308-Rifle-1807 and look on gunbroker.com <thumbsup>
  18. +1 you seem to have your mind set on dpms and that's fine but AR's & AR parts are selling like crazy right now so IMO you should keep your options open, search/call a few places to find out the wait times....than double what they tell you <laughs> http://308ar.com/forum/308-ar-manufacturers/
  19. True, but his budget is $2500 that's why I suggested the Predatar.
  20. Hey 5-7 be sure to post up some pictures of whatever you get <thumbsup>
  21. Well I should have bought a lotto ticket my first time out with my new rig, in over 30 years of hunting/shooting i've never mounted a scope on a new gun and it be dead on at 50 yards! On my second trip to the range I tried several different 308 & 7.62 rounds I also purchased a set of bags which helped, I shot moa with 168 gr FGMM. I have some SW ammo on order to try out soon, hopefully I can tighten my group up a bit.(Bottom target at 100yards) LWRC REPR 7.62 Weaver 3-15x50 FGMM 168
