  1. I had to splash cold water on my face. Poetry!
  2. ^^^^Ray, this is the crux of the matter. You can sand and polish until the cows come home, but you won't get a great trigger, well not one that you would want to compare to a real good trigger. You can make the mil-spec feel a little better, but how much is your time worth. This is very important. I am not going to take this opportunity to beat up on the ATF, but will say if they are getting calls that you are at the range (or with buddies) and your rifle continues to double and triple, then you could have a legal problem. I have felt a lot of triggers worked on by a lot of different dudes, and I have yet to feel an one that compares to Geissele, I run them in my duty weapons and personal weapons, well all but one... that has a KAC two-stage....which isn't as good as Geissele (IMO).
  3. Welcome. Great Company, Great Products.
  4. I better start drinking now. Just kidding. I have a lot of hope for the future. 100 years from now....I will be dead and won't give a damn one way or the other.
  5. That is a personal preference. If I have a plan for what I want to do, I just go ahead and start buying crap as soon as it is on sale
  6. B&C M40 with a Triad Tactical cheek pad is an awesome combination for the money. Try to find a B&C used. I bought one and seen them in the one hundreds
  7. Before you haul off an buy an Accuracy International....go shoot one....alot. They are great stocks but there are no guarantee you will like them. They are not for everyone.
  8. Yep. Any although I do not know your budget, if it is on the low end, B&C is excellent for the money and I feel on par with H-S (in some models) . Excellent lower end Chassis is MDT LSS.
  9. Chassis or stock? Since you got more options with 700
  10. And more realistic.
  11. Unless it is a 700 Milspec, you will likely notice a notice a difference. The quick answer is yes....but as always the real answer is...IT DEPENDS.
  12. Not at all what I was expecting from that video.
  13. I have and use both internal mag on a 700, Detach on a chassis with AI and HS with HS mags. Detachable Mags are not a must have in my personal shooting endeavors although they are nice. For work they are necessary for a variety of reasons.
  14. As in detachable?
  15. I know....LOL. If it actually break and I lose a weapon, I will spend my time on the bricks drinking bourbon helping you build slings to replace my lost income.... :ifly: <lmao>
  16. It all comes downs to drift, drop, and drag differences and what kind of performance you are looking for. Each have their benefits and their downsides. As you know there is no perfect round so you will compromise one for the other. The .308 is a jack of all trades, master of none. There are a lot of 6mm and 6.5mm even 7mm-08 bullets with great BC and as you pointed out less recoil. My oldest daughter hunts with 7mm-08. Lots of performance in a low recoiling rifle.
  17. I like the .308 and that what I chose, but there are multiple reasons I do this. If you are not "married" to the .308, then look at .243, 6.5CM and .260 Those are great performers as well. I would suggest against moving to Magnum if all you plan to do is target shoot....at least if you are just starting out with bolt guns.
  18. Remington 700 AAC-SD. $650, new. You can get used 700 at pawn shops and get them machined and rebarrelled and you will have one helluva shooter as well. Savage are nice, but if you are on this site you are likely a "gun tinkerer" and you are not going to enjoy "tinkering with a Savage 10. That is my two rounds. If you just want something that is accurate out of the box and you don't want to mess with it....ever.....buy a TIkka. Great shooter, great ergonomics, great accuracy......crappy aftermarket support.
  19. Congrats .308Litehunter.... I am still wearing my original one on the MP5 and although it doesn't get the workout the MK18 does, it ain't babied. I am still trying to break those plastic pieces >:D ....so far they are holding up..ahem.....so far. I D&S with the MP5 sometimes and I haven't lost it yet........yet.
  20. What happened to the forum?
