    Grilling

Post this under " Forgetful cook" I got some nice short ribs out, thought I would sear them on the grill, then slow cook them in the oven for about three hours. Got them on the grill, all hell broke loose and remembered them an hour and a half later. Don't they look good?!
  2. Yes we are with good reason my friend. RRA might have a slight edge in barrel quality, but even that is debatable. But the Predator is the 24 inch Stainless, isn't it? Don't think you can get anything that long in Armalite any more. Keep in mind it weighs a lot more and is front end heavy. Unless you are a US Military sniper level or DSM level shooter, doubt if you would discern any difference between the two.
  3. A nephew shared this. A good refresher, particularly for teens and people who haven't had training. We all know someone like that. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2015/11/30/what-to-do-in-an-active-shooter-situation/
  4. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/russia-says-has-proof-turkey-main-consumer-of-islamic-state-oil/ar-AAfW6e2?li=BBnb4R7 Does not surprise me, Obama's an idiot to work with Erdogan.
  5. Like Shepp, I started out buying a RRA 308, which is a mighty fine rifle. My friend Libertarian uses one in long range matches and does quite well. I got tired of waiting, and when an Armalite 308 rifle appeared on my LGS shelves, I opted for that. I have not been sorry and have since added a 16 inch barrel Armalite carbine. One thought: Since Armalite switched to the DPMS, KAC 25 magazine standard in their "A" models, you can now get an Armalite and swap magazines with a lot of other 308 AR' s if you ever decide to buy a second 308 AR of another brand, like DPMS. Can't do that with RRA as they use the FN style magazine. Having an Armalite "B" model I am locked into Armalite Gen 2 mags. Which is an excellent mag, but I can't switch them with DPMS, KAC, or other 308AR designs. A bit more flexibility with the Armalite "A" models, just sayin.
  6. you must have had some major hp coming out of that 360! Generally put a rich woman in a Mercedes , BMW 5 series, or an Audi A5 or above, and they are rude, fast, and arrogant in the way they drive...... Wait a minute, besides being poor, male and not driving european machinery, I just described how I drive. Never mind.

    Deer Season

good luck with that. I was opened up earlier this year. Never fun.
  8. yeah but I love the look of surprise and indignation when I rip the Vette past them at 95 mph. One little old lady from Hibbing actually sped up and tried to tail gate me in a Rav 4 after going 40 in a 60. She gave up at 120. Guess she got her thrill for the day and something to tell her Bridge club. Actually she only had me by probably 5 or 6 years, but I don't think of myself that way.

    Deer Season

Sorry for the expensive lesson Wash. I have taken a smaller buck and kicked myself later in the season, but Mag is right. The smaller ones do taste better. Not that ten points is small! Hang onto some of those Mk319's for next year. Deer season ended yesterday here. Herd population was so low I didn't go out. Did not hear much shooting either. None of my friends even saw deer, although a couple of big bucks were taken I heard. Next year I ill be back at it.
  10. Actually there is another stretch of border east of Aleppo and West of Kobani that is still in ISIL hands. That is where they get all their supplies and volunteers through Turkey from. That is the one needs to be closed to make an impact on ISIL. The US has dragged their feet on supporting the Kurdish YPG in taking it because Obama doesn't want to offend The Turks who are scared to death of the Kurds being in control of the whole border because then Turkey can no longer play its two faced game. Obama needs to grow a pair. Crazy. The US wants ISIL destroyed, the Turks want Assad and the Kurds destroyed, the Russians want the Free Syrian Army destroyed first, then ISIL, the Syrian Kurds want to create a new homeland, while the Iraqi Kurds make money selling oil to Turkey, so they won't support the Syrian Kurds. And ISIL sits and laughs while everybody fights around them. A recipe for WW III.
  11. The border is much longer than that, but the Syrian Kurds have taken control of the rest of it. The 60 mile stretch is the area that is left that also happens to have a large population of Syrian Turkmen on the Syrian side, who Turkey is supplying with weapons against Assad. The Kurds want that stretch, the Turks want it, and Assad and Russia want it. It is gonna get lively. Meanwhile, ISIL (The Daesh) sits back and waits to pick up the pieces. Would not be surprised to see some pitched air battles in that area in the near future if diplomacy fails. Just hope that the U.S. F-15"s at Incirlik don't get pulled in if the Russian SU-26's start kicking the Turkish air force butt. We would be backing a loose cannon in Erdogan and Turkey.
  12. Nice purchases. Look forward to a range report down the line on both of them! Always liked Windham.
  13. Turkey's Erdogan has been covertly supporting the Daesh against Syria, the Kurds, and Iraq for quite some time. This is a person who launched military strikes in country against his own people to influence elections, and then assasinates a prominent human rights lawyer yesterday who was critical of him. Time to expel Turkey from NATO. And your right, Obama is in over his head. Not enough spine to bring Turkey to heel. Syrian Kurds are now looking to Russia, considers Putin a more reliable ally then Obama and the US.
  14. Well thought out weapons. Nice Rene.
  15. Rename it Utah and Ted's excellent adventure.
  16. JT glad he is back for Turkey day. Thank him for his sacrifice, our prayers are with him. May the two of you and the rest of your family and the rest of our troops have a great Thanksgiving. No lack of courage there. Our leaders just need to use it right.
  17. Truer words never been spoken. If any of you are history buffs, it reminds me of the start of WW I. A bunch of unrelated events that ended up related and pushed the world down the path to a World War without most the world realizing what was happening. Deja Vu.
  18. We are in it, no doubt.
  19. 10th grade, walking to study hall from Social Studies, overheard a girl shout "they killed him!" Got to study hall, they had the TV on. Instead of going to classes the rest of the day, they had us stay in the room we were in and they brought TV's to every room that didn't have them, and all of us watched, listened, and prayed.
  20. Yep, the safest communities have always been those who willingly police thems lves.
  21. An honest man. Until they are ready to clean up their own communities, nothing will change.
  22. Just found this. Bullets cost 28 cents each. 60 cents for a loaded round sounds good to me. Thanks PSA. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/120598/federal-bullets-762x51mm-nato-308-diameter-mk319-mod-0-sost-130-grain-open-tip-match-box-of-250-bulk-packaged
