  1. Deer farms are what brought it to Wisconsin from Colorado.
  2. Give us two hours with our 308 AR's. Might be a few holes in buildings though.......Maybe evacuate the town while we are at work.
  3. +1
  4. That is a moment when one realizes that forces have been unleashed that are difficult to comprehend, and what is in front of you can snuff you out in a second. My moment came in a,gale on Lake Superior I had no business being out in, with no help within 40 miles. I realized I was a very small piece in a very large storm. Ever see the movie "A perfect storm?" That now affects me worse than any horror show, and always will. Yeah I think I know what you are talking about.
  5. Thanks guys, good input. Think I will try it with an el cheapo I have in the back of the safe. If it works I will pick up that Primary arms micro dot.
  6. Any one ever try setting up a 45 degree offset red dot? I have seen some pics of them in 3 gun matches. I currently have 45 degree of set BUIS. Dont really like it, as the front sight snags on everything. Thinking maybe a mini red dot might work better for back up. As I have two sizeable scopes on my 308 AR's. Any thoughts? And yes, I will follow the rule if necessary.
  7. Close to the top one. I am setting up my game cams tomorrow and smearing some peanut butter on a tree a ways away from the house. See if I can get some pics. Cook that chili well, bear meat is the number one cause of trichinosis in Wisconsin.
  8. Nice! I am looking at that 2 MOA reflex sight.
  9. Don't touch it unless you can get it inspected by a very skilled, knowledgable housing inspector. The things that can be hidden, especially if it hasn't been maintained are huge. Depending on where you live, termites, dry rot, nob and two wiring, water damage, foundation damage, soil instability, etc. etc
  10. So I am sitting outside on the patio about an hour and a half ago. I had just lit the charcoal for some steaks and was waiting for it to burn down to put them on. I was dressed in a black jacket and slouched in a patio chair kind of daydreaming. I catch some movement out of the corner of my eye and look up into the face of a humongous black bear 20 feet away. You can tell a big bear because their skull expanse is so wide it makes their ears look really small. This one has big shoulders, too so it is most likely a male. I quick stand up and start yelling and he turns and heads towards our shed and stops, turns and looks at me. I make a mental note of where his shoulder comes up to the shed. I yell again and wave my arms and he takes off. Afterwards I go up and measure his shoulder height on the shed. 39 inches. Guessing he was close to 400 pounds. When I take the dogs out tonight I will be packing a 357 with jacketed soft points. Don't feel like losing a dog to a bear. Shepp you would have drooled all over my patio, his coat was in fantastic shape. Would be a hell of a rug.
  11. in the Politics forum, some threads, even ones I started will not have a reply box at the bottom of the page. Is that a locked thread, or a glitch?
  12. Looks good Pappy. Nice of Imschur to share his knowledge. Saves learning it the hard way.
  13. Funny thing is that the Norinco imitation M1A's are in demand by shooters because of their high quality. Can't get them anymore in the US, only Canada. Also, during the Soviet Afghanistan conflict, the only AK's AKM's and RPK's that the Soviets would reuse if they were captured were the Chinese manufactured ones. The Romanian, Egyptian, etc. Soviet style small arms were all destroyed, but not the Chinese. I don't know if it was because of quality or some other reason, but they are turning out quality stuff, damn them!
  14. What it looked like before the new upper reciever.
  15. Cousin Eddie! A face only Chevy Chase could love.
  16. Lets see him do it with an RPG.
  17. Took the "Old Lady" of my AR's out to the range today to sight in a remounted Sightron Red Dot I put back on it. Probably has 6,000 rounds through it. A Pre Ban Colt Match AR15 HBAR. I swiched in a flat top for the old carry handle upper and put a folding rear BUIS on it. Both sights shoot really well. Went through a 120 rounds of M855. Keep thinking about selling it, but I guess I like it too much.
  18. I stand corrected.

    1911 info

my trusted LGS guy is recommending Ruger 1911's as an excellent value.
  20. BMP-2 with the 30 mm Automatic cannon primary armament. If I remember correctly the BMP-1 had a 76mm rocket assisted glorified RPG for main armament. Your the expert, Blue, am I right?
  21. Back in the 1940's they made a movie about his lfe. "Carbine Williams" with James Stewart. Saw it on TV when I was a kid in the Jurassic.

    Congratulations on a classic.
  23. Wasn't that Carbine Williams? I think he was an ex con when he did that.
  24. You convinced me. Its on my list. Another enabler.
