  1. damn, that's a nice price on them, can't get an adjustable cheek rest stock for anywhere near that cheap anyplace else
  2. Anyone have opinions on having used either? Phase 5 Raptor
  3. I'm partial to those Raptor charging handles, just need to find them in stock somewhere in 308 outside of buying the BAD ASS ambi safety. I'm a righty, and don't need to add an extra $60 for an ambi safety :)
  4. I do find it comical that those 308 extractor cover pins are almost as hard to find as magazines right now. well, not exactly comical. I guess I can wait and hopefully find something else I want from them (maybe muzzle brake), not like i'll have the lower in for at least another month anyhow
  5. can you do me an enormous favor? when you order that, also order one of these for me http://www.fulton-armory.com/ejectionportcoverpintitantacticala4upper.aspx and send it to me by regular mail? Its the only thing I need from them, and I hate to pay their flat rate $10 shipping for a $3 item. At moments, I wish I wouldn't have bought a stripped upper
  6. hopefully as they plan their move they start with a higher production capacity :)
  7. welcome from west central FL
  8. well, i'm easily breaking $2000 without buying a battle rail, stock or scope
  9. in the lower parts kit it is all standard AR 15 parts except for the bolt catch screw, front pivot pin and takedown pin.
  10. I'm happy with how mine should turn out once all the pieces arrive. Shadow Ops Weaponry lower, standard low dpms upper, 20" rainier arms barrel, harris tactical nickel boron coated bolt carrier group, the cmmg 2 stage trigger. still undecided on buttstock though. i'm leaning towards the magpul CTR overall, but the STR + ACS/ACS-L all look good too. cerakoting in foliage, so I figure i'll go with the magpul synthetic MOE handguard since its both inexpensive, has lower rail space and comes in the right color
  11. same here. currently in my hands is a lower parts kit and 2 stage trigger, that's as close as I am to an AR 308 today. Of course tomorrow some more comes in, and more Thursday :D So much was on either a reasonable length back order, or just shipping delay. the place I bought the upper from has a 3-4 week shipping delay for in stock items... Just FYI, my lower is coming cerakoted from the manufacturer, and i'm sending the upper out as soon as it shows up. But i'm not adding a battle rail, as a) my budget is already past the breaking point and b) I really only need a bottom side rail for a handgrip/rest and bipod. I'm not mounting a pile of stuff on the rifle, its going to be used for hunting so I don't really need a flashlight, red and green lasers, a bayonet, etc :)
  12. that blows. I found someone I knew who lived there and finally got a hold of him last night. oh well
  13. if you have the upper / lower in hand right now and they aren't assembled (lower parts kit, trigger, etc) you may be better off sending them in now for cerakoting since you'll be waiting on the rest anyhow
  14. 2 concerns. Its an M14/M1A barrel, not a DPMS AR308 barrel, so fit is potentially not the same. but along those same lines from that product page So unless you were planning on having a gunsmith assemble it, and you're ready to pay the extra cost on top for headspace adjustment it may not be the best bet. You'd probably be best off going directly to Krieger to make sure you get it exactly right. http://www.kriegerbarrels.com/
  15. What don't I have on order is a bigger question... Inbound includes Rainier Arms barrel standard DPMS upper Shadow Ops Weaponry 308 lower Harris nickel boron coated bcg
  16. I need someone to help me find a $60 scope, because I'm already $900 over the budget I told my wife up front ;)
  17. From my understanding all dpms compatible are small pin and only the colt (and maybe the knights armament) use the large pin
  18. I'm not sure I'd consider an 18" a sniper build, but it should be plenty for out to 600-700 yards. The low mass carrier is nice, but for reliability nickel boron coated is a better bet. Definitely stick to dpms based components. I'm pretty sure noveske is available in both armalite and dpms versions. Get ready to spend a ludicrous amount of money :)
  19. yeah, since you already have it together, you may be able to get away with just loosening the grip around 1/4 inch, not even taking it off entirely. That will make it easier to avoid losing the spring or pin :)
  20. its not too bad http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=11636/learn/ that video shows putting in a non-ambi, here are steps for an ambi, basically the same with adding the other lever 1) Make sure your gun is clear. 2) Make sure your gun is clear again. 3) Remove the upper from the lower receiver. 4) With your thumb on the hammer use the trigger to release the hammer into its forward position. 5) Remove the grip from the lower. Be careful to capture the safety lever spring and retaining pin. 6)Once the safety lever is free to move around you should be able to pull it out of the left side of the receiver. Some wiggling may be necessary. 7) Reinsert the new ambi safety from the left side. 8) Reattach the grip with the spring and retaining pin. 9) Do several function checks to make sure the safety does not allow any movement of the trigger when it is in the on position. 10) Attach the right side safety lever.
  21. welcome from florida!
  22. If you've got 20s and need 10s due to change in state law or for hunting, I have 1 10rd i'd swap for a 20, plus i'd throw in $15 as well.
  23. damn that sounds sweet
  24. gun or wife? :D
  25. I read this yesterday, and it prompted me to check out their products. Their buttstock is pretty sweet
