just some additions, I've ordered and have inbound the Mako GL shock as stock, my upper shipped today! Also have the Raptor charging handle and badass ambi safety added. have some duracoat in FDE to do everything with, and ended up with a quad rail, but a 2 piece one, not free floating. Still no idea on scope, unless I reuse one of the cheap ones I have.

yeah, well the plus is that saves me some money anyhow. I guess i'll go with no buis, and if later I want something for more tactical use on it, I can add an offset red dot or something. It is primarily going to be a hunting rifle anyhow.

what blows for me is that the closest walmart is under a mile away, just about right across the street from the entrance to my subdivision BUT the high school is also right next door to it so they don't sell guns or ammo. Sure they sell beer and wine, not like any high school kids would every shoplift that. And I'm sure the liberals could find all sorts of mass killings where the person showed up with guns but no ammo, and stopped into a walmart right before to grab some even if there is no way its ever happened.

I guess since I won't be mounting the barrel till after, I can't tighten the compensator down either, so i'll leave the plastic protector on the threads + paint it separately

nice set of choices there. I'm still up in the air on a scope for mine as well. With the whole build having ballooned so far over original budget as it has, i'm trying to figure out what is a worthwhile inexpensive scope to get for at least the time being.

So I ordered the duracoat to do myself just since the cost of getting rail + upper + etc cerakoted was just too much. What I was wondering is if for the barrel I should install the gas block + compensator and duracoat it all as one piece? it would seem to make sense to do it that way but i'm not sure.

I was trying to figure out what to do about BUIS, if anything... My plan is for a 3-12x50 scope, as this is intended as a hunting/target rifle more than anything. But at the same time, it would be kind of nice to have a high scope mount that had the rear buis built in, and then a flip up in front. Anyone seen one? I think I have in the past, but for the life of me can't find one now

I can't make up my mind between all the different variations available from all the different manufacturers, so I figure picking one up less expensively used might help.

ugh, I know. Midway sent me the "in stock" notification on the dpms MK12 AR15 barrels and the first thought was hmmm maybe my daughter could use an AR15

well, I meant i'm done ordering till I put it together and realize I want some upgrades :D as it is, I happened to end up with ordering 2 uppers, and since this was a 20" barrel for hunting, it would be kinda fun to have a 14-16" barrel with upper for home defense....

No, not being put together, but the last parts on order. Now all i'm waiting for is a stripped lower (due early april), an upper (due by end of feb) and BCG (due late feb early march), plus assorted little stuff. at least if the upper shows up, I can go ahead and duracoat that, the handguard, the barrel and gas block while i'm waiting impatiently on the lower

hmmm damn, Lone wolf does uppers in .45GAP. Bet a silencer would work really well on that
