  1. that's just cause saying LR308 doesn't sound as sexy.
  2. no they won't. They'll demonize Magpul for leaving, talk about how they'd rather have young children die than comply with state laws, blah blah blah
  3. I was looking at the cost of getting everything cerakoted vs what the durabake aerosols cost, and that makes the durabake attractive. Any opinions on it? I can afford to do whole rifle in camo that way for less than getting my upper and hand guard cerakoted one color
  4. I managed to pick up some Georgia Arms 168gr jhp match grade for $130 for 100 rounds. Went to the gun show and that was the only reasonable price for decent ammo. It basically was all either just shy of $2 a round, or was steel case Russian military 7.62x51 in those sardine cans for $500 for 500 rounds
  5. this place should have these in stock within then next 2 weeks http://www.cstactical.com/gun-accessories/ar-uppers-parts/dpms
  6. Press release from a few minutes ago
  7. whoops, just realized they were armalites, sorry
  8. barrel, barrel nut, gas block, gas tube all arrived today. I'm going to start twitching soon waiting for the upper + lower receivers.
  9. I don't know that given the lack of standardization of the 308 AR platform that you can call a slight difference in the height of a rail "out of spec".

  11. a previously owned toy of mine that I sold :( 68, 350 high torque engine, 4.11 posi rear (yes still the independent), tubular front a-arms, carbon fiber mono leaf spring replacing coil springs, falken azeni tires. Was an absolute screamer to 70mph I've always wanted one of these, but never could afford one. Still consider building one from a regular roadrunner I'll probably buy a used one of these sometime in the next 5 years as a toy car, the Lotus Exige S. a 4-5 year old one with under 30,000 miles still goes for below half of new sticker [img width=810 height=433]http://www.diariomotor.com/imagenes/coches/big/lotus-exige.jpg
  12. Well FDE it is then
  13. Hmm and I can do the buffer tube too then, so only the buttstock would be black. Does the air dry ceralote stick to synthetics?
  14. I'm in Florida, so no teeth meth whores are easy to find. I'm still a month or two out. Maybe I'll get lucky and you'll have it all worked out in time :D are satin finished barrels cerakotable?
  15. Hmm that does make sense. I can get the quad rail cerakoted along with the upper I guess. Can't do anything about the stock tho, the one I ended up deciding on is black only. But that wouldn't be as visible as the only black part. know anyplace that cerakotes cheap? :)
  16. I take my 16 year old daughter and any of her friends that want to come out to the range with us. She's currently one of the top marksmen in her junior navy ROTC regiment :)
  17. oh dang, I thought I read non-corrosive. yeah, forget that
  18. that's pretty cool. I wonder if this crap is worth buying? http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/24770 says its brass at least, but 112gr?
  19. Original plans had been to go with foliage or OD green on both upper + lower, handguard, stock etc. This was partially because where I ordered the lower from included an option of cerakoting the lower for $50, which is a decent price for it. But I've ended up with (because of good deals) both a black quad rail and a black stock. Intention had been for both to be OD/foliage. I know I can paint/cerakote the rail, but not much I can do with the stock. My lower isn't complete yet, so I haven't had to make the cerakote color choice. Is it worth it to get it done in a color if the upper + lower are going to be the only parts that color? Or should I just tell them to cerakote the lower black? or just ask for the refund of the $50?
  20. welcome, and condolences for the retards in your state capital.
  21. I think for most people, the preferred make is "the one I can get shipped to me soonest"
  22. well, if you go with a non-floating handguard, theres no issue, but the gas block will be visible
  23. ah yeah, they do now, thanks. at first they only had it up as a combo choice with the ambi safety. an ambi safety isn't an all bad idea as all 3 of my kids are lefties, but I'm trying to conserve now that i'm at the tail end budget wise :)
  24. you know what? that was a good enough price that I pulled the trigger and ordered it :)
