Sorry about those sh!tty results you seem to be getting. I've never experienced this problem so maybe someone who has or knows the best route can comment for you. I haven't heard of any problems with those barrels but not sure about your bolt. All I can offer you is a quality gunsmith who I believe lives in your town. PM if you do end up wanting to go down that road.

Beautiful. I think it would be great to visit Alaska someday. It's on my bucket list.

I have seen that info put out in reference to the gauges but more I've spoken to say strip it down. Be careful doing it because removing that roll pin can be a pain. Once you've done it a few times, it gets easy.
-
Also, you should invest in a good quality pin hole punch set which is also great in helping with the bolt roll pin
-
Just remember to properly check headspacing, the bolt needs to be completely stripped down. This includes the ejector w/spring. If you try and force things then you might damage those pricey gauges. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=ZETW1gJJ_rg&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DZETW1gJJ_rg

Welcome from MA. Many of the guys here definately have expensive taste but will also give you more affordable quality options if you ask. However, with choices like LaRue and LWRC it sounds like you're already willing to open up your wallet and wear the magnetic strips off your CC yourself. Good luck.

Thanks and yes it is nice to see the (almost) complete product. I look forward to finishing it next spring and seeing how accurate it really is. I have a feeling the money I sunk into it has paid off in overall quality. There's not much recoil, the trigger is great, and accuracy with irons seems to be top notch. Also, the little money that I've lost from too many separate S&H charges and minor mistakes don't add up to money that I've saved on good recommendations from forum members. This is especially true with the FA SS barrel. I was going for a custom barrel for this that would have set me back 2-3x's the amount I paid. Although I'm sure many of these barrels are great, it just wasn't worth it for me at this point in time. Even after cerakoting this barrel w/i the next few months, I'll have under $450 into it.

One step at a time brother, lol. I rushed the build and completed it way too early. This, in turn, prevents me from coughing up enough for glass this year. Getting behind this beast without a quality scope is very limiting but it is what it is at this point. I'm over 3K into it so a matching price point on a scope will definately not be in the cards (nice try). At this point I'm just researching and will invest in a scope next year, probably in May. I want a tactical scope probably with a x14 to x20 range zoom. This is only an approximate. I picture a black cerakoting finish on the barrel, larue scope mount/rings, replacing irons with a 45 degree offset red dot and whatever scope is decided upon. I could also potentially add a Cascadia PRS stock sling attachment merely to complete the look and give the option to add a quick release sling, if I ever do add one.

Finally have the PRS stock in and installed. It's a heavy one but very solid. I'm impressed with the quality level and price.

Paul, nice ARs...big fan of the top one.
-
I was very tempted to do just that but was happy with the Ace stock so I just waited it out.

Here's a jab at a few of my brothers from some of the other branches, along with some all in good fun stuff.

I FINALLY have a Magpul .308 PRS stock enroute. It only took 6 months to track one down at a reasonable price in black lol. I also bought a Magpul phone case with it. Thanks to Bayou Tactical and BLKSHEEP for the help.

Welcome from MA, nice lower at a good price.

Rainier has nickel boron 308 BCGs in stock $323
jrtMA replied to survivalshop's topic in General Discussion
I'll add that some .308 BCGs from other manufacturers are starting to pop up on GB for reasonable prices. I just saw a JP one that ended about $50 cheaper than the JP site sells them for. I would have jumped on that if I needed it. -
Good read on the current ammo shortage
jrtMA replied to shepp's topic in Firearm Industry News and Gossip
True....I was told that Wally World will get random shipments in and then wait until that night to put it out for the morning. A rep at the one near me told me that they have the same people come in first thing in the morning on their way to work nearly everyday to check new arrival ammo and buy the max amount. That doesn't leave much for most everybody else, if any. -

Not much to add to what 98 already mentioned. It's a very costly gamble that will likely bite many right in the @ss. -

That's because you're basically in CT lol. I can get a lot if I go around to a few stores but refuse to buy on the high side. 5.56 is largely going for .75 cents to 1.00 + per rd if broken down and its not good quality half the time. If I can't get value bulk rate prices then I pass. -

Good article. I can't talk sh!t about the hoarding thing because I'm always on the lookout but haven't had the chance to necessarily hoard as of right now due to shortages in MA. I don't see it ending anytime soon. Certain calibers are popping back up but people are still very nervous and buying it up quickly. -
That little troll is completely and utterly worthless. Great job to all those out there that have helped to make that POS rich.

I used to live like that and could have slept on a bed of sharp rocks in th Army...now I sleep on Tempur-Pedic with matching pillows, lol. I'll still sleep anywhere with a few beers though.

That is one bad-ass f*cking dog!
