  1. The miculek brake on my .308 has some brutal blast! If I go to the range I make sure to sit a few tables away, and even then the blast has knocked stuff off other shooters tables. I hunted with it one time without earplugs...just once.
  2. You shouldn't....
  3. I'm all for open carry, but if you're going to be singing "Hakuna Matata" AND wearing camo while doing it I'm calling the cops! :)
  4. Of course he did. That man is precise!
  5. Im an AMax whore, but I'll be following to see the results of the Noslers.
  6. That's a large variance for the Noslers. +1 for the AMax ;)
  7. 155 AMax 43 gr R12 Winchester brass Fed 210 primer COAL 2.795 Since they no longer make Reloader 12 the next best thing I have found is 43 gr Varget. I bet R15 would be better I just can't seem to find any. I found out the lgs had some R12 hidden away in the closet last year so I bought it all ;)
  8. Out to 300 the 155 AMax is the most accurate bullet I've reloaded. Looking forward to seeing the results you get.
  9. Picked up some 147 fmj this morning. Not a bad price thanks for the link.
  10. http://www.north-river-custom-knives.com/custom-tomahawks.html He makes some beautiful hawks. Out of my price range though.
  11. Sounds like another fun day! It's been awhile since I've had fresh pike and walleye, I'm jealous!
  12. Thanks. Im happy with the results. I fired a single shot from each group and would then go check the brass and primer for pressure signs. Then I would fire the other 4 onto the target just to check for function. I had read that people were having trouble using IMR 4227 with the Barnes 110 Tac-tx. Mostly cycling issues. I didn't have any issues and with 18.2 gr it shot very accurately.
  13. Just a quick update on my Shibi - blaster. Got out and shot some reloads this morning. Happy to say that now the extractor issue has been fixed this thing is fun, fun, fun! Here is a picture of the results. Shots were taken at 25 yards. Looks like the 110 Tac-tx are going to work with IMR 4227. :)
  14. Man those crappie make me jealous! I haven't lived by a decent place to catch those since high school.
  15. ^^^^ I remember reading about that I used the PMC because I didn't have a swagger for the LC brass. I've got one now so I'll convert some and see if that works. Thanks for the reminder about the neck wall thickness.
  16. Well, remember the brass was good to go before loading the bullets. And they wouldn't fit the gauge properly even before crimping. The brass was trimmed with a Lee case length gauge, which I know are cheap but they have worked well with other calibers for me.
  17. All converted PMC .223 cases.
  18. Case lengths aren't perfect but they are all real close. I thought about the crimping, because I was checking them before the crimp. I put just a light crimp on them but still no go.
  19. So I made a bunch of reloads and had some issues out at the range. Some would fire and some wouldn't chamber. I just received my Sheridan 300 Blk slot gauge for checking the reloads. I sorted the good from bad and then proceeded to pull the bullets from the bad reloads. I then resized the brass again and checked it in the new Sheridan gauge. Good to go. Now here is where I'm having an issue. The brass fits fine in the gauge but as soon as I load a bullet they stop fitting in the gauge. They barely stick out of the bottom of the gauge which means they are a no go. I'm using Lee dies, and the reloads are one of 98's recipes for Hornady 150fmj.
  20. Cool. Either way, get one on a fly rod! Bow fishing would be fun to.
  21. Got any carp ponds around? Get a 6wt fly rod and go land some of those things, you'll be hooked!
  22. They were some nice fish, and fought bigger than they were! I've got some other really good pictures they are just to big to upload. My friend who organized the trip is a fly fishing purist, so just to piss him off I always bring my spin rod and a bag of "Gulp" minnows. Never fails to land some nice fish!
  23. The first day was pretty nice, got up to about 60 with no wind. That almost never happens in Wyoming. It made up for it the next afternoon, the wind was strong enough to blow us up river. Trying to row was a joke, we had to hug the shore and walk the boat down river.
