  1. It is not a consistent increase since the bullet's trajectory is parabolic (curved) the deviation/drop from the zeroed point at 100 yards increases exponentially for each incremental distance. The MIL reticle has a uniform hash marking. This is primarily for range estimation, and coupled with the right bullet drop chart, makes it universal, from a caliber/load standpoint. You'll notice caliber-specific BDC reticles have an exponential reticle. The holdovers are spaced out farther for longer ranges. e.g. Nikon M308 e.g Safariland BDC 800 reticle e.g. Bushnell BDC/DOA reticle
  2. Ed, Use the LRBC app on the vortex website. http://www.vortexoptics.com/content/lrbc If you are having problems figuring out what data to put where, let me know and I can input the data for you and generate the PDF's of the reticle at dfferent magnifications. Looked it up and figured out that the mil-dot reticle is calibrated for 14x on your SFP scope. Here is the reticle chart in MILS (mrad reticle) for FGMM 308 175gr SMK HPBT (see attached PDF). Your reticle at 14x is "similar" and the mil dots match up to the major MIL hash marks (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4) on the mrad reticle. You'll also notice that the following image (right) is pretty close to the reticle chart, since the image is set up for 168gr projecticles. 14xVortex Optics - LRBC.pdf
  3. Magwa paints a scenario out of "the Walking Dead"..... <lmao> <laughs>
  4. I use a long riser to bridge the gap then tighten everything up to spec. Always worked for me.
  5. I could call my CMMG rep and yell at them for ya! <laughs>
  6. I've used a commercial stock on a MIL tube. I used some black vinyl insulating tape to snug it, and it actually worked pretty well.... then I sold the rifle. :D

    New Boat

    Nice boat. :D
  8. Naah, the heavy buffer shouldn't be an issue.
  9. Agreed. Now have a couple beers! :hethan: :hethan:
  10. AVAST ME MATEYS!
  11. Rule 65b ... just sayin... P.S. Had an FN45 (amongst other FN's) in my hands while at the LGS. The handgrip feels weird to me.
  12. +1 on the P227, especially if 45ACP is the direction they are going....
  13. Very nice!
  14. ....or a gas turbine generator. It would run on almost everything, from used cooking oil to propane. My neighbor down the street rents generators... if SHTF, I think I'm covered. :D
  15. Parts/sub-assemblies for the machinery that makes semiconductors....
  16. $600? F*** that. I assure that it'll be competitively priced. I'm a cheap ass - and I pass the savings on to you!! Besides, I don't believe in safe queens. (On a related note, just got a contract for semiconductor manufacturing parts - $1200 per unit!)
  17. Ammo, food, survival gear, your favourite porn mag? <laughs> I try not to weigh myself down with too much. All I got is a small bail-out bag with ammo/magazines in it.
  18. oooh... just had a thought. A limited run billet lower with the 308ar.com logo. :D
  19. From what I hear the price of the "glass replacement" is already $200. Add the LCD and it's $200 more (quoted by a local repair place). Being my EDC camera for a long time, it severely needs cleaning (mirror box is dusty as hell) so that will add up more $. Picked up a replacement off ebay - $429. :D I don't see the point of upgrading to a newer one. The trusty old MK1 5D is more than enough for my needs.
  20. 6am - 10:45pm at the shop... clearing the manufacturing backlog so I can start running billet lowers! Can't wait!!
  21. You're gonna start a Nikon vs Canon war, just like the Armalite/DPMS pattern wars...
  22. Canon EOS 5D. Trusty, old, reliable. Probably not worth fixing since the actual LCD is cracked. Probably able to find a used one for under $500 (this was a $2500 camera back in the day). At least it still works. It wasn't the bolt carrier. It was the hammer on the Sig when I slung the camera on my shoulder.
  23. Been working too long today and got klutzy.
  24. Got our first shipment of parts. Anderson lower receivers and Magpul MBUS sets. I guess I'm offiially in business. :D
