  1. I am also looking for some optics for my new DPMS RECON .308 Looking for something I can use for both close quarter and medium/long range I understand that you must compromise when you want your equipment to do it all. Money is also a consideration. I was looking at a scope from Burris called the skultac. It is a scope with a red dot mounted on top of it. Any opinions suggestions.
  2. Howdy from Plano. I have joined the new Frisco Gun Club. Pricey, but it is supposed to be state of art in indoor rifle and pistol. Opens in October. But I too would like to find an outdoor range or land where I could go and just shoot stuff. Paper targets get boring sometimes
  3. No gun stickers on the jeep. Only political. Latest one is.. Jihad This.... Islamofacisim SUCKS. Love the looks I get when driving through the Peoples Republic of Austin... And the cheers I get driving anywhere else in TEXAS.
  4. Anybody out there using frog lube? I just tried it on my DPMS. Degreased it, heated it up and brushed it on all over. Let it sit for couple hours. Then wiped off. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet. Hope it works, would be nice not to have it dripping anymore.
  5. Tom Selleck nails Jesse Stone.
  6. This was a starting point for me. My 1st was a DPMS RECON .308. There is no replacement for displacement. True with cars as it is with rifles.
  7. It is the breakdown of the family, and all that crap coming out of Hollywood that glorifies this gangsta mentality. I have two 19 year old sons who I could not be more proud of. It took a lot of work and time to raise them. Twelve years going through the Boy Scout program with them as a leader, dragging them to church on Sundays, showing them how to treat their mom and all women with respect. That is how most dads used to do it, but it seems to be a dying art.
  8. Aye, when the lasses here in Texas ask what I wear under my kilt, I always tell them me shoes....
  9. I have a DPMS RECON stamped 7.62 on the barrel, and .308 stamped on the receiver. Can I use both?
  10. Howdy y'all, stumbled across your forum. Looks like I came to the right place. Just dipped my toes into the AR lake. Purchased my first, Started with a DPMS recon .308. My sons and I are finished with the boy scouts and was looking for other activities to share together. We have been shooting bolt rifles and handguns. Hope to learn a lot from you.
