  1. As soon as I saw that I knew what you were going to do. Not a bad idea for the guy on the bench.
  2. there a a few sites like gunbot that show live prices, I use them as a reference all the time.
  3. Just had to say that wideners is pretty fast on shipping. Ordered 100rds on Thursday when heminut posted this and I chose fed ex ground, shipped from TN to RI and I have them in my hand @ 10:30 sat morning. I'm impressed.
  4. speakin of beaver
  5. late to the party, Did anyone check to see if a sharp corner was holding up from bottoming out on a radius or a chamfer before the faces made contact? Im sure thats the first thing that machinist would have checked.. ?
  6. Thats funny cause most blocks have a 10-32 thread. 1-1/2 turns on that thread is .046 will be interesting to see if that faxon barrel with the 047 hole runs as it is
  7. Silly old men just cause it shoots doesn't mean your done
  8. Yeah Ron chambered this barrel for me. The way to do it is use a cncguns ar-45 lower and grease gun mags. I just dont like the look of stick mags. Figured I would try this route and get it to work, if it failed I could abandon that idea and use a magwell block and stick mags
  9. well not quite 1158 but you know what I mean. I never really crank on em with a wrench. I think it really helps if the mating surfaces are very flat and square. I did one and just kinda snapped it tight with a quick flick of my fingers and I couldnt get it off by hand.
  10. I always time mine to line up at like 11:58 and then just snug it by hand with a wooden dowel or a pin and using loc-tite only if need be or if the guy requests it. Ive never had one back off and I never glue em on, but im spoiled and grind mine to fit ^-^ Sometimes it doesnt take much, On a 24 thread pitch one degree is about .00011" but using a crush washer you would probably want to stay near those numbers 98 posted 20ft pounds or so.
  11. Yes this is the receiver that has harry potter references on it. The wife has already seen it. She is the "cosmetic engineer" so most of the way it looks is her choice. With my opinions of course. Ive used a 6.5 18rd mag with my own guts in it. Feeds well (so far) only have about 200rds down the pipe
  12. I aint moding nobodys rear oil hole................ except the wife
  13. There is an optional kit to bore an oil hole in the rear lol
  14. why yes, yes I did haha it was the ass that drew me in
  15. her father must be proud
  16. sounds like you went through the extractor pretty well, but what kind of shape is the ejector and spring in?
  17. why scratch built of course
  18. Seems like a pretty nice piece for the price. Let us know what you think of it.
  19. nice looking build Goblin
  20. Its up and running  Just needs the finishing touches to be called done.
  21. Wasnt sure where to post this so I threw it in here. Been working on a pistol project for the wife. I'll post some more pics in here later and show the finished project once I finally get it anodized. Here is a handguard from unique-ar which required a custom barrel nut and wrench because the gas block is so close to the chamber. Been running good so far on hand loads and a modified 6.5 18rd mag just need to do a few more engravings on the recv, anodize it and put a sling on it.
  22. no handle on these
