  2. Definately fixable. Biggest bitch would be indexing the barrel to 90* to drill out the old pin. I would call up a local machine shop. Doesnt have to be a gunsmith job by any means.
  3. Last matrix wrench has been spoken for by Taffrail.

  9. Just a reminder to keep a cleaning rod with you.... I usually have a cleaning rod in my rifle case so when I get to the range if I need it I got it. Well I forgot to put it back the other day and it bit me in the ass. Brought the 308 and the AK to the range this morning to get in some happy time and started running some surplus brass cased ammo through the 308. 2nd mag in and I had a jam....WTF? Been running sweet lately. Clear the jam and see a spent case in the chamber with the rim ripped off, no biggie. Except my cleaning rod was back home on the reloading bench! Dammit So I took out my frustration and beat the snot out of some steel targets with the AK. Murphy's law

  13. I have to hand it to Matt, he should get a medal or something. Never ceases to amaze me how he can step in and keep his sheet together and be very unbiased and polite in the face of a whirl wind of poo.
  14. Canoe Racing So a Japanese company and a North American company decided to have a canoe race on the St. Lawrence River. Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile. The North Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the North American team had 8 people steering and 1 person rowing. So, North American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion. They advised that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing. To prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team’s management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 person rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the"Rowing Team Quality First Program“, with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rower. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices, and bonuses. The next year the Japanese won by two miles. Humiliated, the North American management laid off the rower for poor performance, halted development of a new canoe, sold the paddles, and canceled all capital investments in new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses and the next year’s racing team was outsourced to India....
  15. And this thread right here is just a small sample of why I like this place. Its like sitting at the bar. Robs original post got me to thinking. Back in the day I was into building custom trucks and would help my buddy put on a huge show once a year, anyway there was a big database of guys info such as Name, address phone# and what they would be willing to do or any special trades or tools they had. That way if a distant brother was traveling through or on vacation somewhere if they had a problem or breakdown they could call a brother up and say HEY can you help me out? Or even to just say hey Im in town lets meet up and go cruisin... Maybe we could create something here like that. With limited or private access obviously. That way the brothers that are not that tight with each other would have a fellow like minded brother near by if they were traveling. Just an idea

  25. Do you use that front rest to get you close and then tweak the rear bag after each shot? That seems like a decent price for that whole set, might just have to grab them next time. Crown royal bag <laughs> thats awesome. Yeah I made my own monopod but I would also like to get comfortable shooting off a bag. Thanks guys
