I see your listing in the for sale thread is closed - I'm surprised that no one advised you not to try to mix an Armalite barrel with the DPMS type bolt/BCG you have You will need to make sure you use a DPMS compatible barrel with that Bolt Carrier Group just remember Armalite Bolt and Armalite Barrel Extension or DPMS Type Bolt and DPMS Type Barrel Extension, you cannot mix them in the same rifle. I'm only posting this because you haven't outlined what parts you are planning on and you indicated your lower is an Armallite pattern model. If you aren't sure what to use just ask and the experienced members here will help you spend your money (I mean get you pointed in the right direction)

I actually bought one of those this past year, very well made, I've only used it once putting around 80 rounds downrange with it, didn't spend a lot of time dialing it in - too bust doing a break-in on the new rig but, all in all very pleased for the $ P.S. I bought the optional sun shade and butler flip caps - nice additions

Thanks for the info, I'll probably be going that route on several of mine - other options include the AR maglock and Franklin's DFM Fixed magazine (10 round of course) Still waiting on the response to Michel & Associates letter demanding that the CA DOJ rescind the new proposed regs and further clarification of the upcoming rules -

Yes on the barrel nut and, they only charge an extra $20.00 for it - I've seen merchants that charge as much as $45.00 extra, highway robbery!! -

I bought one of them for a friend recently from these guys, seem to be one of the better deals out there: http://www.graniteridgeoutfitters.com/Aero-Precision-M5-308-Enhanced-KeyMod-Handguard-Gen-2-APPG308225.htm http://www.graniteridgeoutfitters.com/Aero-Precision-M5-308-Enhanced-M-LOK-Handguard-Gen-2-APPG308226.htm -

I wouldn't recommend that first one (612790588) that's the really high rise and you won't find a third party rail or handguard for it (it's kind of a bastard in the LR308 world) the second one (613856506) looks good and has the standard LR308 forward assist provision that will work with any DPMS 308 type bolt carrier group (not that a forward assist has much of a purpose on a large frame AR) The assembled upper doesn't look bad either for the price. -

Riflegear has Aero DPMS type high profile stripped uppers on sale for $99.99 https://www.riflegear.com/p-5798-aero-precision-m5-308-stripped-upper-receiver-anodized-black.aspx Should be a good fit for your lower - if you want the forward assist to function you'll need a bolt carrier group with the ar15 style serrations on the side (most don't have them) -

This is not looking very good!! If this is correct, Washington is attempting to follow in the footsteps of these jacked up politicians here in California - I hope they kill this bill before it makes it into law! Z-0388.1.pdf -

I don't think you'll find the webpage you're after but, there's a bunch of very knowledgeable guys here that can help keep you going in the right direction And either High or Low profile is fine as long as you match the rail height on the handguard you select (on rare occasion there can be a slight height variation) -

These guys: http://crpa.org/ https://home.nra.org/ are working on taking action against the new laws through this legal firm: http://michellawyers.com/ @blue109 - I realize there is much more to the problem than the "freebie" crowd but, they seem to be a major contributor to getting this crooked crap voted in -

WHOA,WHOA, WHOA!!! I and many people like me Voted against this B.S. - the problem is we are overrun by these "sense of entitlement type liberals with their hands out looking to get freebies from the government" and they will vote however the powers that be in Sacramento ask them to - it's worth noting, the freebies they are receiving are funded by federal tax $ so it's fair to say the entire country is helping to fund this mess - hopefully the new administration will be able to help stop the madness!! -

Yea, Things are getting pretty bad over here!! -
I would add one exception, if the gasblock has a rail and you want it to match the upper rail height they will be 308 specific - and of course the DPMS pattern has 2 rail heights so in this case proceed carefully

The one's I have are 4140 but they do have Stainless btw Ares Armor new owner(s) recently changed the name and the prices seem to have gone up: http://www.americanweaponscomponents.com/product-category/build-an-ar10/barrels-build-an-ar10/ These guys have some of the last of the old Ares stuff: https://blitzkriegtactical.com/?view=store&catID=104

I've heard talk from some of the veteran members here that KAK is an inexpensive brand of components and in their price range there are better choices That said I believe they supplied Ares Armor's barrels and perhaps other parts (I have a couple of their barrels and am very happy with them - good quality per dollar) furthermore the website you linked shows Green Mountain as their blank supplier and they are known for good mid priced barrels - unfortunately Green Mountain doesn't sell 308 barrels. http://www.gmriflebarrel.com/

Your Welcome Yep, 308 rail, The barrel is a Ares Armor 16" Mid gassed 4140 with a .750" Gas Block - never tried an adjustable gas block but if you read the last of that thread you will notice a link to a adjustable gas key I've been really wanting to get my hands on
