I suspect your problem is your buffer tube/buffer/spring combo, with a AR15 type carbine buffer tube you have to use a really short buffer (around 2.5") and a special spring with a higher spring rate that has a wider space between coils - the preferred combo is the CAR-10/Special AR10 spring from Slash: http://heavybuffers.com/ar10carbine.html If you don't have the dough for that, the standard LR-308 Carbine Buffer/Spring from DPMS seems to have the correct dimensions, I haven't fired mine yet but the measurements work out correct for proper cycling: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/232006/dpms-buffer-lr-308-carbine http://www.midwayusa.com/product/813595/dpms-buffer-spring-lr-308-carbine

I Bought a BHW 18"/Mid Barrel from these guys :Blackhole Weaponry .308 18" Stainless Steel 1:11 Poly Barrel - DPMS Compatible They aren't in stock ATM but they have been in stock more often than not the last few months - the price is reasonable, they ship quickly and as a bonus they throw in a free AR15 stripped upper! (too bad it's not a .308 upper!) Can't say how well it works or how the headspace checks out because I'm still waiting on my Shadow Ops BCG, but the barrel looks very nice although it is a bit heavy being stainless and standard profile.

I like the style with the keymod and the shape of the vent openings but, I'm a little unsure about the Q/D attachment, looks like something that could fail right when you really need it. My Boss bought a Fortis handguard for his AR15 and it has a pretty solid mount that attaches to the stock barrel nut. Would be nice if they could offer a 308 version of that or a non-Q/D version of the model this thread is about.

Has anyone been able to get one of these - they've had my money for a month and a half and won't reply to my request for a update on the status of my order, their website just says "processing" are these guys trustworthy? Thanks
