Well 98, looks like Primary Arms heard you! http://news.primaryarms.com/q/jrGOsA7Cn85CCLZMKZyQ_o1W6r4KrAT8LffLJGwhKIyfTtsQt6MCkk_jr http://www.primaryarms.com/radical-458-bcg-with-barrel-bundle?trk_msg=BFDJ96HT09U4N1P1AI14LLRUL0&trk_contact=HMTHL2U06RG3UM3NOES2L5E5N8&trk_sid=3LSIR57872H7A2TB1VRF6BM0L0&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fwww.primaryarms.com%2fradical-458-bcg-with-barrel-bundle&utm_campaign=17_11_Ad_30_Left_Overs_Cali

Just noticed your video, looks like the cam pin is not unlocking the bolt from the barrel extension - you may be able to remove the handguard and barrel nut and try to pull the Barrel/BCG forward enough to clear the locating pin and rotate the barrel to unlock the bolt - if successful you can then check the headspace, make sure the BCG is assembled correctly, check the cam action on the BCG, LUBE IT UP REAL WELL!, and re-assemble it.
-
I'm pretty sure the Blitzkrieg BCG is from the same supplier that Ares (Dimitri) was using - should be decent quality but, that doesn't mean you should skip the headspace check - that would only be the case if you bought the Barrel and Bolt from the same supplier and they did the headspace check as a service or courtesy
-
Well 98, they advertised it as a 24hr sale for today (Mon) only - gotta move on it if you want one!
-
Geez, what's next - we gonna get Wash in on this with his faulty brakes?
-
You mean like this? http://www.primaryarms.com/radical-458-bcg-with-barrel-bundle?trk_msg=F0NH07DAAL0K1C75CGF6OAOA0C&trk_contact=HMTHL2U06RG3UM3NOES2L5E5N8&trk_sid=AL34HPDMCU6MF3978T8ADO7DL4&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=SLOT_3&utm_campaign=17_11_Ad_26_Cyber_Monday_Cali

Yep, That's right, Armalite Pattern! This could get interesting especially if they come up with an upper to match! http://www.tacticalmachining.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3437

Yea, Schuyler seem to consistently have great pricing on Aero stuff, They have also had some smokin deals on Ballistic Advantage Barrels.
-
Schuyler appears to have em all still available except the M4 Air Force M-LOK: http://www.schuylerarmsco.com/manufacturer.aero-precision-993?&page=2

^^^ Yep, liberal amounts of Mobil 1 - the large frame AR's need lots of lube on the BCG and buffer for the first couple hundred rounds to get things seated in and loosened up

Polymer 80 lowers the real deal?
guruofhotrod replied to xxlfitness@yahoo.com's topic in Building a .308AR
Here is a link to Blitzkrieg Tactical, they are selling the same 80% lowers as the late Ares Armor, I finished a couple of them a couple of years ago and can say without a doubt they are good to go! Best way to finish it is with a mill but it can be done with a drill press and I have even seen someone selling a router setup to do them - there was a machine called a "ghost gunner" that was some kind of benchtop mini CNC mill but, I suspect they aren't available anymore? https://blitzkriegtactical.com/?view=store&prodID=300 -
Happy Thanksgiving too all!! Doing the solo thing this year - kinda of a bummer but, trying to make the best of it and cobble together some semblance of a proper Thanksgiving dinner. I'm very thankful for the opportunity to be part of this great forum

NEW CONTEST - Eat the Canned Chicken...
guruofhotrod replied to 98Z5V's topic in 308AR.com Contest's
Where's it say ya gotta be a member?, I have been trying to rope in either my boss or one of my knucklehead co-workers -
Sure, why not, you gotta start somewhere - just make sure your bolt style matches your barrel extension ie: DPMS type/DPMS type or Armalite/Armalite
-
^^^^^as Matt.Cross said, if it won't chamber, figure out why, here is an explanation of the recent DPMS type F/A evolution: There are 2 common forward assist styles on DPMS type 308 uppers the first that was the most common up until a couple of years ago has the forward assist button in the same protrusion as the brass deflector and does not require serrations or notches on the side of the bolt carrier - the pawl engages on a single step on the side of the bolt carrier. Recently uppers have the forward assist button further to the rear, at a shallower angle (similar to an AR15)and require the serrations or notches on the bolt carrier to function. The newer style (serrated side) bolt carrier will work with either style upper but, I suspect the newer style AR15 type F/A position probably won't engage on an older (non-serrated) bolt carrier.

A heartfelt Thank You to all who have given so much to allow us to have the opportunity to live free and enjoy this great country!

I got to check out a couple of the pre-production ZEV receiver sets yesterday, very well made, fit and finish are excellent and the machine work is beautiful - looks like they will maintain the high standards that Mega was known for and further evolve the design.
-
Well, Interesting stuff, I was able to procure the JD 308 receiver set I was after from a vendor on gunbroker ironically for a better price than JD was selling them for - went to start the DROS yesterday and got a insider heads up that there's a pretty good chance that JD Machine (in some form) will be back at some time in the future - sounds like the owner may have got his tit in a ringer. I sure hope things work out for them

Nice! @Rorbcop1051, Do you think that would fall under the "fixed stock" definition for us here in cali?
-
They have some great prices this weekend: http://www.surplusammo.com/categories/deals/weekend-deal.html?mc_cid=0c4f0a4cb6&mc_eid=b13f0a003c http://www.surplusammo.com/categories/ar-308-parts/ar-308-barrels.html

More $hit that doesn't add up - "Crashed into a metal gate outside their community and burst into flames"? It takes a lot to make a vehicle burst into flames - this doesn't sound right.

The pile of parts is slowly trickling in

As much as I try to avoid ebay for AR stuff, these work awesome with the AP 308 set - I'll post a pic later: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Guntec-USA-308-Extended-Take-Down-Pin-pivot-longer-featureless-addition-helper/282514112495?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D41375%26meid%3D5027d2a3e93d49be8e24849ab0bb422c%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D282486831350&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Guntec-USA-308-Extended-Take-Down-Pin-pivot-longer-featureless-addition-helper-/152671504709?hash=item238bee4945 Over here in cali, with a "fixed mag" config ya gotta pull the takedown pin and tilt the upper open a bit to operate many of the compliant mag release devices. @AMERIKINSHIP - Nice lookin rifle, should be a good shooter
