I put an 18" mega on my dpms build . I used a hardened arms BCG . Headspace is fine. I can't give you moa ratings yet. Due to my scope still being in the mail. But I've been very impressed with the accuracy . At 100 yds on open sights with the bipod I'm hitting 2" groups. I'll give a more accurate review later when scope arrives. The finish is very impressive. I Picked up on memorial day sale for 230.00

Its been running about .08 a round around here. You can find it but you have to look. Seems like I'm always looking. I've got about 1000 RDS. Put back .I don't think you can ever have enough ammo these days the way things are going. My rule of thumb on ammo is I try not to shoot half of what I pick up. Ruger 10-22 good choice ive got one. But I'm very fond of ar style firearms. They feel more natural than about everything else I've had in my hands.

The ballistics that I've researched for 155 grain shows for a 200 yd zero . zeroing at 50 yards should be about 1/2 inch high. Is that right? That's where I zero'd my mbus at.

I have a lower ready to go for my son. I am looking for a good deal on a dedicated 22 upper for my 15 ur. Old son. He used to enjoy rangeday with dad. Not too long ago he shot my. .243 bolt action with scope. He didn't have enough eye relief and wham scope got him. Now I'm thinking hes intimidated and I'm having a hard time getting him to go to the range with dad. So I'm thinking he needs to stick with a 22 for a while he needs a 22 anyways. He has a 20 gauge he occasionally shoots. I should have started with a 22 for him. I remember the thousands of 22 rounds I shot while growing up. I think that's a big part of why I am who I am today.

I think I will get ahold of seekins. Their ar15 catch is ideal.

Have a similar rail with same but. Loosen nut with strap wrench. Straighten rail and re tigten but. Issue solved

Does anyone know of an lr-308 bolt catch where the tabs are oversized? Similar to seekins tactical ar-15 bolt catch. I know there's a catch similar to the b.a.d. lever. It looks too cumbersome and too gaudy for my tastes. Besides I'm used to functioning catch with my left hand. Seems to be automatic. Must be all the drills in my Marine Corps days.

I'm in northern Indiana. I've lived here most my life except for my time in service. I finally finished my lr-308 . except for optics which is on its way. Dpms panther lower . dpms a3 upper. Mega arms 18" barrel.hardened arms BCG.dpms rifle length buffer j.p. polished buffer spring. Ace skeleton stock. 15" eBay free float rail. 110.00 hard to beat. I've ran 120 rounds through it now. With one FTE. I relubed BCG and ran 40 more rounds through after FTE. With no more issues.

Has anyone tried the Hawke 3-9 x 40? I've got one on order it should be here tomorrow. Looks like a good deal on an etched glass scope with 308 bdc. any rec commendations on some good scope mounts? Preferrably something light weight and simple. After all I do plan on hunting with this lr-308

I'd hate to carry that thing anywhere let alone try to fire that thing off hand. You'd be way better off with an m60

I gained the experience with the m-60 and an m16a3 in the Marines in the 90s. After coming home a purchased a couple of ar15s and then I moved in to assembling some . I eventually did a couple of 80%ers.About 6 months ago at the range while test firing one of my ars I had the pleasure of firing an lr-308. It brought back some old memories and I've been hooked since. Of course i wanted to assemble it my way. I used dpms lower and an a3 upper . mega 18" barrel . 15" freefloat rail. And ace skeleton stock with rifle buffer. By far my favorite. I definately like 308 over 5.56 . I wish I liked buying the rounds more.

It took viper a week to finally send out my refund. On one of the emails viper said that . he had to lay off a couple employees. Throughout my emails and phone calls I only spoke to one person SO it sounds like its a solo shop now. After looking back. I consider myself fortunate for receiving a refund. Surplus Ammo had no problems Shipping me out a new dpms within a few days.
