  1. I read on Calguns that their communication sucks. That is what turned me off from buying from them. I guess I will look elsewhere.
  2. I have been watching Salt Works for over a year. I was looking to buy one of their matched sets over winter and read they sold the company. There was a whole lot of people pissed that they ordered sets and they never shipped when it changed owners (not sure who's fault it was). It sounds like the new owner has got things straight now. I was hoping to see if anyone here has purchased a Salt Works set in the last couple of months for feedback too.
  3. Brownells has the best warranty in the business. Lifetime satisfaction guarantee. I would just send them back on their dime if not happy with them. I have used their warranty before and it is great. Just print the return tag and send them back.
  4. I want to hear how it performs. I have been waiting for Faxon to have their 16", MEDIUM TAPERED, .308 WIN, MID-LENGTH, 416-R STAINLESS QPQ available.
  5. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to getting one of the Nitride BCGs.
  6. Good price on their 308 combo set. Does anyone own one?
  7. Looks like they still have this barrel on sale and have an additional 20% off with coupon laborday15.
  8. I saw this add yesterday and was curious that the site says 308 for the product heading, but in the description says it is chambered in 7.62x51. It is also stamped on the barrel 7.62x51. Also, the picture looks like the barrel is nitrided, but it is not stated in the description. Anyone have one of these? Are they safe to use 308?
  9. Thanks everyone for your replies. I suspect that the barrel chamber may be on the tight side. I am using a Mega 16" barrel. I have heard that others have had extraction issues from Mega 308 barrels caused by tight chambers which they remedied by polishing the chamber. I was a little confused at first since the gun cycled fine the last time I shot it. I think the SSA casing dimensions may be on the higher side of the tolerance. Also as mentioned above, the SSA ammo may be hotter. I think I am going to polish the chamber and try it again. Any suggestions on the best way to polish the chamber? I was thinking of using a bore mop and Flitz. I am probably around 180 rounds fired through the barrel.
  10. I bought 500 rounds.....I feel like a sad bad with an swollen anus. It was brutal shooting 20 rounds. I had to use a cleaning rod to get the empty cases out since it ripped the rim off case. I tried two boxes, but i would assume they were from the same lot since the problem did not go away. All of the case say Pierce.
  11. Just curious who bought SSA 308 Win 168 Grain OTM from Shooter's Supply that was labeled cosmetic blemish. I bought it in March and just tried it today. I had nothing but issues with extraction in my gun. I have had no issues with PPU 168gr, Fed Match 168gr, Fed 150gr, PMC 147gr in the same gun. The extractor was actually ripping the head apart on several of the casings. I adjusted the gas so that it would not extract and several of the cases were stuck in the chamber. I think the casings are to soft. I am wondering if any one else had this issue. Below is the initial topic for this ammo in March:
  12. 308 Corbon Performance Match 175gr. BTHP Ammo for $15.95 for a box of 20. I never shot this stuff, but looked like a good deal for match 175gr. http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/20rds-308-corbon-performance-match-175gr-bthp-ammo
  13. Damn....how did I miss that deal.
  14. Some people hold onto grudges. This SOB was fired from that station two years ago.
  15. If the barrel is labeled CBI Direct, do you have to be a dealer to purchase? I don't see the ability to purchase the 16" rifle length. The ones with Brownells listed, takes you to Brownells site for purchasing.
  16. Good to know. I am thinking about getting this barrel when it is back in stock. What kind of accuracy are you getting? Is there a noticeable difference in weight with this barrel?
  17. SS, did you figure out if your issue was related to the ejector spring?
  18. I am curios on who owns a Aero Precision 308 BCG. The price looks good and it has FA serrations that work with their uppers (not that it matters much). Anyone care to comment if they had any issues or praises? http://aeroprecisionusa.com/308-bcg.html
  19. Thanks a bunch...I was trying to figure out who made Aero's barrels. I grabbed a 16" 223 Wylde for $158 yesterday. I figured it was worth a shot.
  20. Try these out: http://www.garrettcartridges.com/4570exitertech.html It will kill anything that walks on the planet. Nice gun....I got the stainless years ago. Plus P rounds hurt.
  21. Does anyone own an Aero Precisiosn Stainless barrel? If so, what kind of of accuracy are you getting and with what type of ammo? I am interested in 308 and 223 Wylde. I prefer 16-18". I searched Google and other sites, but I could not find any results for what I was looking for.
  22. I got mine today. I only opened one box. I can see small blemishes on the case were it tapers. No big deal. All of the cases in that box were marked "Pierce 308". I went back on their website today and the prices went up.
  23. They did not request my DD214. My discount was automatic when i filled out the form. I would believe they do spot checks. Probably similar to Joe Bob Outfitters.
  24. I did not see the bulk price when I made my purchase. I sent them an email and asked if they could give me the bulk price since I ordered 25 boxes. They adjusted the price and saved me another $23. Sweet deal.
