Good to know, I picked up 4 boxes today, 9.97 a box of 20.
-
I was referencing the 7 3/4 in tube v 7 in tube, I probably should been more specific.
-
Which size buffer tube, .308 or AR 15? If it is a standard 7" buffer tube you cannot use a std carbine buffer and spring. If 300 yards is all your looking for any of those lengths are fine.

Get some surplus and blast away! Nice range toy for the price of a .22

Thanks, that is one of the options I have been looking at.

I am building my first 308 AR. Looking for some feedback. Aero Precision m5 Upper & KeyMod rail Aero Precision Lower & LPK Giessele SSA-E Trigger Bad ASS 45 degree Safety Troy Ambi Mag release Aero Precision BCG 18 in MedCon bead blasted SS match barrel (my house brand) B5 SOPMOD stock (or Magpul STR/ACS-L) Mag Pul Pro BUIS TacOps Charging Handle (thanks to this site I am gonna give it a try!) BCM Gunfighter Mod 2 grip I am still trying to decide if any muzzle device besides a flash hider is worth the hassle (and the noise of a comp, my hearing sucks already from 20 yrs of flying). I am also considering a suppressor mount and a can, so many options in that dept, I have a lot of research to conduct. My goal is to build a rifle that handles well, is extremely accurate out to 800 yards. I am using the Ambi options to evaluate them (I hate recommending things unless I have first hand experience). I am still looking at scope options as well, trying to keep the glass under $1k.

Wilson Combat Enters the .308 Arena

No hate from me, I think it's a fine looking rifle, I am sure it will shoot well. Yeah it's spendy but not out of line with the competition (LMT, LaRue etc). -
I had never heard of these guys, so I went to the website. Misspellings, wrong specs quoted (1/2 x 28 flash hider on a 308) and a bunch of mil spec quoting for standard processes. Why buy from someone like that? I would of sent that biotch back and if they wouldn't give me a refund it's BBB I go.

I picked one of those barrels for a lightweight build project. I read (I think on ARFCOM) that those barrels use the Armalite length gas tube not the mid length as advertised. I haven't had a chance to measure it yet but I will do that this weekend.

^^^ Sounds like a nice build ! -
Nice!

My new house branded (Deep South Armory) 308 match barrels arrived. 18" medcon Stainless bead blasted with matching gas blocks, now if the rest of my orders would arrive I can build my rifle!
-
Looking good, I have one of those barrels, going to do a lightweight build with it. I look forward to your range report :)

That's why I ordered from AP and PSA. I have had good luck with both in the past, I figured this would give me a chance to compare their offerings head to head, and I wanted to confirm compatibility (or not). -

As soon as the big brown truck of happiness arrives I plan on posting some comparisons between the AP and PSA offerings. -

Hello everyone, Great site here! I am an FFL in the Florida panhandle. I have built 7 AR-15s and I am anxiously awaiting several orders from Palmetto and Aero Precision to complete my first .308, using custom barrels from my barrel supplier. I plan on taking some pics comparing the Aero & PSA offerings.
