I'm no expert on older pickups, but this is just fucquing cool.

It sounds like you need to be in the market for a 10 or an 8 gauge shotgun.

The one thing you cannot quiet down is the SLAM of the action as it rams home into the breech. I don't hear the sliding of the greased spring inside the buffer tube at all when I pull the trigger on my suppressed 300 BLK, but the clack of the action is loud enough that I can't tell how quiet the shot actually is. Someone standing a few feet away sure can, but they don't have the action slamming back and forth next to their ear.

I woke up yesterday to -11 F, the high was +1. Today it started at -8. Tomorrow the high is supposed to be in the 30s. Yo Yo temperature swings these days

As I recall I had a similar issue with the gas tube on mine. My solution was a bit different tho. Once the barrel was in place and the barrel nut tightened down I did a bit of Dremel tool gunsmithing and notched the front face of the nut to allow the tube to fit. With the adjustable gas block it runs supers two clicks from completely shut off. Subs don't cycle at that setting but I have an 8" barrel BLK that is primarily for subs.

150 gr is a magnum load. If your rifle isn't rated for it I wouldn't be shooting 150. 100 gr is much more comfortable to shoot and unless you are really trying for extended range 150 isn't worth it. At 100 yards and in the deer will never know the difference.

How far away from whatever you were using for a target were you? The farther you are away from the target, the more up you will move the red dot to match the boresight. 30 ft across a room is way different than 50 yards.

78* and sunny today in northern WI. High 70s to low 80s for the next week or so and we finally put two days together without rain in the last 6 weeks. Come on up the weather is fine!

In Idaho the ecosystem needed/needs them. Their dams on snow fed mountain streams create ponds that warm the water into temperature ranges that trout can thrive in. So they are beneficial and they let them procreate and multiply, save as many as possible. Here in Wisconsin, those same dams on borderline too warm trout streams create ponds that warm the water even more, pushing it over the edge of trout sustainability causing summer kills. For many years WI had a beaver eradication program on trout streams, even state sponsored bounties on them when fur prices crashed and no one wanted to trap them. One state's savior is another's devil. @98Z5V In the 80s you could have been here with your rifle of choice stalking and shooting them.

If this wasn't so true it would be even funnier.
